Siemens AG is seeking a Junior Global Commodity Manager to collaborate with an experienced GCM to develop and implement global supply strategies for assigned commodities. As Junior Global Commodity Manager (f/m/d) you will collaborate with an experienced Global Commodity Manager (GCM) to develop and implement competitive, resilient, and sustainable global supply strategies for assigned commodities. Gain hands‑on experience while progressively taking on more responsibility for sourcing initiatives, supplier management, and commodity‑specific activities.

How you will make an impact

• Supporting Commodity Strategies:
  • Assist in preparing and updating global and regional commodity strategies by gathering and analyzing demand, market, and supplier data.
  • Contribute to global and regional sourcing roadmaps, strategic measures, and implementation plans.
  • Take ownership of defined analyses or sub‑commodity topics as your expertise develops.
  • Support Cross‑Functional collaboration (Project Management, Sales, Quality)
• Conducting Market, Demand, and Cost Analyses:
  • Validate and analyze procurement volumes, supplier structures, and market trends.
  • Support cost-breakdown, price-development, and benchmark analyses to inform procurement decisions.
  • Translate findings into clear recommendations for global commodity management.
• Managing Suppliers:
  • Participate in supplier pre‑selection, qualification, and onboarding activities.
  • Coordinate supplier meetings, business reviews, and improvement initiatives.
  • Gradually assume responsibility for selected supplier relationships and development measures.
  • Gather, validate and maintain supplier information
• Supporting Sourcing and Negotiations:
  • Support regions in the preparation of RFQs, supplier comparisons, and negotiation strategies.
  • Participate in supplier negotiations and document outcomes.
  • Gradually lead sourcing packages under GCM supervision.
• Contributing to Risk and Sustainability Measures:
  • Monitor supply risks, compliance concerns, and sustainability requirements.
  • Support carbon-reduction and responsible-sourcing initiatives.
  • Develop supply continuity and resilience plans for assigned scopes.

• Education:
  • You have a technical and commercial background, gained either through a degree in Engineering, Industrial Engineering and Management, Business Engineering, or a comparable field,
  • Alternatively: you have completed a vocational training in areas such as electrical, mechatronics, industrial mechanics, or similar technical disciplines with several years of relevant professional experience in an technical or commercial environment.
• Experience & Skills:
  • First professional experience in procurement, supplier management, sales, or cross‑functional teams
  • Strong analytical skills, commercial understanding, and interest in technology, international markets, and supplier management.
  • Experience working with data, business cases, or project teams.
• Ways of working:
  • Structured problem‑solving with the ability to translate complex analyses into actionable recommendations.
  • Collaborative working style with clear communication across functions, cultures, and regions.
  • Motivation to learn and develop through mentoring and on‑the‑job assignments.
  • Ability and willingness to international travel
• Languages: Fluent in German and English, both written and spoken
