Solactive AG is seeking a Junior Engineer to join our Structure team, building the software foundation for index development. You will collaborate with experienced engineers to develop backend services, APIs, and tools used across the index platform.

You'll learn modern software engineering practices, participate in CI/CD, automated tests, and cloud-native development, and grow your technical skills in a friendly, hybrid work culture.

Qualifikationen

• Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, software engineering, or related field or equivalent practical experience.
• Up to 2 years of professional software development experience, including internships or student roles.
• Basic knowledge of at least one programming language such as Java, Python, or TypeScript.
• Understanding of OOP, data structures, and version control (Git).
• Interest in distributed systems, APIs, cloud technologies, and modern development practices.

• Contribute to the development and maintenance of backend services, APIs, and internal tools.
• Support the implementation of new features and enhancements for the index development platform.
• Collaborate with engineers, product stakeholders, and business teams to understand requirements and deliver solutions.

• Participate in code reviews and learn from feedback from senior team members.
• Help investigate and resolve issues in development and production environments.

Job Overview

Our Structure team builds the software foundation for consistent and scalable index development at Solactive. We provide APIs, libraries, testing frameworks, configuration patterns, and reusable components that enable teams to develop, maintain, and operate indices efficiently.

As a Junior Engineer, you will work alongside experienced engineers to develop and maintain the platforms and services that support index construction workflows. This is an excellent opportunity for someone early in their career who is eager to learn modern software engineering practices, work on real business challenges, and grow their technical skills in a collaborative environment.

Your Tasks

• Contribute to the development and maintenance of backend services, APIs, and internal tools.
• Support the implementation of new features and enhancements for the index development platform.

Your Profile

• Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Up to 2 years of professional software development experience, including internships, working student positions, or personal projects.
• Basic knowledge of at least one programming language such as Java, Python, or TypeScript.
• Understanding of software development fundamentals, including object-oriented programming, data structures, and version control systems such as Git.
• Interest in learning about distributed systems, APIs, cloud technologies, and modern development practices.
• Familiarity with web technologies or frontend development using React and TypeScript is a plus.
• Exposure to containerization technologies such as Docker or Kubernetes is a plus.
• Strong willingness to learn, ask questions, and continuously improve.
• Good communication and collaboration skills.
• Fluent English skills.
