Kia Europe Design Center in Frankfurt am Main, Germany seeks a Junior Interior Designer to develop and deliver advanced interior proposals aligning with Kia’s Opposites United philosophy. You will work across ideation to production readiness, collaborating with global teams and contributing creative input.

You will translate concepts into feasible interior solutions, support cross-functional collaboration, and grow within a design-focused studio that values experimentation and innovation.

Qualifikationen

• University Degree in Transportation Design, Industrial Design, Visual Design, or a related field.
• 1-3 years of relevant automotive or mobility design experience.
• Strong sketching and design communication ability (hand and digital).
• Proficiency in design software such as Photoshop, Alias, Blender, or similar.
• Interest in vehicle design trends, innovation, and mobility solutions.
• Good understanding of vehicle design principles, packaging, and feasibility considerations.
• Good communication and visual storytelling skills in English; Korean is a plus.
• Organized and proactive work ethic; willing to learn and grow with guidance.
• Willingness to travel as needed.

Your Mission:

The Junior Designer Interior is responsible for developing and delivering advanced and production interior design proposals that embody Kia’s global design strategy and “Opposites United” philosophy. This role combines strong creative execution with technical understanding and cross-functional collaboration to ensure that design intent is carried through every phase of the project - from initial ideation to production readiness. The role includes contributing to multiple design projects while actively supporting the team through strong creative input and collaboration.

Your Responsibilities:

Interior Design Development

• Create compelling and innovative interior design proposals in both 2D and 3D under supervision.

• Translate conceptual ideas into feasible interior solutions with a strong understanding of proportion, surface quality, and design detail.

• Ensure that interior design proposals align with Kia’s identity, feasibility standards, and regulatory requirements.

• Collaborate with modelling teams (clay and digital) to iterate and refine surfaces and forms across project phases.

Project Collaboration

• Handle assigned design tasks independently, ensuring timely delivery of assets across design phases.

• Participate in project reviews, presentations, and milestone check-ins with cross-functional and global teams.

• Support coordination with engineering, visualization, and product planning to maintain design intent from concept to production.

• Contribute to innovation and advanced design studies supporting Kia’s long-term strategic vision.

Studio & Team Contribution

• Actively participate in design reviews, workshops, and studio-wide creative initiatives.

• Foster a collaborative and experimental design culture within the team and across departments.

Key Qualifications:

• University Degree in Transportation Design, Industrial Design, Visual Design, or a related field
