Cubiq Recruitment is helping a European humanoid robotics company find a design-focused engineer to convert concepts into CAD models, drawings, and BOMs. You will perform strength calculations and FEA, then build and test prototypes in the workshop, feeding results back into iterative design.
The role requires hands-on hardware experience, solid 3D CAD skills, GD&T basics, and familiarity with CNC, sheet metal, 3D printing, and molding processes. Munich, Germany-based position.
Most robots never leave the demo floor. This one is being built to work a full shift in a factory.
We’re working with a European humanoid robotics company whose alpha robots are already being tested in the lab. The founders built the actuators that many of today’s robots run on, helped write the first safety standards for humanoids, and lead AI research in data-efficient reinforcement learning.
You’ll take senior engineers’ concepts and turn them into detailed CAD, production drawings and BOMs. That covers structural parts, housings and actuator components. You’ll back your designs with bearing, fastener and strength calculations, run FEA studies, and then go to the workshop to build and test the prototypes yourself. Whatever you learn on the bench feeds straight back into the design.
