• Commercial Java development experience with Spring Boot microservices.

• Experience building consumer-facing apps and APIs.
• AWS exposure (EKS, RDS, MSK) with cloud-native architectures.

Project focus

x2 Mid-Level Java Engineers are needed on a backend team taking ownership of a growing portfolio of consumer-facing services. Alongside maintaining and enhancing these services, the team is building a new feature using modern event-driven architecture and cloud-native technologies.

Key skills and Experience required

• Commercial Java development experience (Java 25, Spring Boot 4 microservices)
• PostgreSQL 17 – schema design and query authoring in a jOOQ (not JPA/Hibernate) environment
• Apache Kafka
• OAuth2 / JWT authentication (Auth0)
• Experience building and supporting consumer-facing applications and APIs
• AWS (EKS, RDS, MSK) exposure is an advantage, as is Liquibase, OpenTelemetry/Jaeger, and modern cloud-native architectures
