Faculty of Computer Science: Artificial Intelligence & Society and Trustworthy Human Language Technologies

Your tasks:

• Installation, configuration, administration and maintenance of software and hardware (PCs, tablets, servers and in particular a duster environment) with various operating systems (Linux, macOS, iOS, Windows) for use in research and teaching
• Selection, ordering and testing of required devices and components (e.g. GPUs)
• Administration and maintenance of printers, copiers and computer networks
• Installation and administration of special software packages, e.g. for GPU computing (CUDA), deep learning (PyTorch) and optimisation (cvxopt, cvxpy)
• Configuration and administration of services (HTTP, DNS, DHCP), websites (wikis, HTML/CSS/JS), virtualization (Docker, VMware, Hyper‑V), backup; monitoring & scripting (Bash, Python)
• Technical support for employees of the chairs and faculty in German and English
• Desirable: Further development and administration of open‑source projects of the working groups (Python, GitHub, Gitlab)
• Desirable: Management of research data in accordance with DFG, EU, etc. guidelines

Your profile:

• Completed training as an IT specialist, IT systems electronics technician or comparable, or a Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology or comparable is an advantage
• Several years of professional experience in the IT sector is an advantage; however, applications from well‑qualified young professionals are also welcome
• Experience in several points under "Your Tasks"
• Very good written and spoken skills in both English and German
• Interest in further training, also in the area of desirable tasks
• Independent and reliable way of working and ability to work in a team

The position is salaried and based on the collective agreement of the Länder (TV‑L). If the personal and collective agreement requirements are met, the employee will receive pay grade E11 TV‑L.
