Job summary

MAM Gruppe in Hamburg is seeking a Manager of IT Risk to translate risk theory into practical, day-to-day discipline across a large IT organisation. This hands-on role builds the frameworks, while also ensuring that risks are addressed and closed.

You will maintain a practical risk framework, align controls across teams, convert risk data into leadership-ready reporting, support audits, and collaborate with security, infrastructure and delivery teams to embed risk management in projects.

Qualifications

• 3+ years focused specifically on IT risk, operational risk, or continuity work within a longer IT career (5+ years total).
• Degree in a relevant field, or equivalent on-the-job experience.
• Practical knowledge of recognised risk/control frameworks and continuity or disaster recovery standards.
• Exposure to ITIL-based ways of working.
• Comfortable operating in international, cross-functional settings.
• Strong written and verbal communication, including with senior stakeholders.
• A methodical, detail-focused working style.

Responsibilities

• Keep risk categorisation and control standards consistent and well understood across teams.
• Turn scattered risk information into reporting leadership can act on.
• Follow up on open issues to make sure they have owners and get resolved, not just logged.
• Work with recovery planning colleagues so IT can bounce back quickly when things go wrong, in step with broader continuity plans.
• Sit alongside security, infrastructure, and delivery teams to flag risk early in projects rather than after the fact.
• Act as a go-to contact for stakeholders with risk-related questions.
• Support audits and regulatory reviews, making sure documentation holds up to scrutiny.
