Job summary

MSK Covertech, Inc. in Germany seeks an experienced network engineer and security specialist to design modern network architectures and security concepts for clients, balancing day-to-day administration with forward-looking planning.

You will administer firewall and security infrastructure (WatchGuard), set up VPNs including SSL-VPN and IPsec, manage Aruba/Cisco/HPE switches, and contribute to security audits and project documentation.

Qualifications

• Degree in (Business) Computer Science or IT Specialist qualification.
• Several years of professional experience in network technology and IT security.
• Experience with firewall technologies and VPN solutions.

Responsibilities

• Assist with planning, design and implementation of modern network architectures and security strategies for clients.
• Administer and develop firewall and security infrastructure (WatchGuard).
• Set up and manage VPN and remote access solutions (SSL-VPN, site-to-site, IPsec).
• Maintain switching infrastructure (Aruba, Cisco, HPE) for a stable network environment.
• Implement network segmentation to enforce policies and minimize risks.
• Plan, configure and optimize routing across the network.
• Provide 2nd- and 3rd-level support for faults in client infrastructures.
• Assist with IT security audits, penetration tests and vulnerability analyses.
• Document network topologies, configurations, changes and operating manuals.

We are looking for an experienced network engineer and security specialist who is not only skilled in day-to-day administration but also in planning for the future.

Your tasks

• You will assist with the planning, design and implementation of modern network architectures and security strategies for our clients – always with an eye on current best practices and modern security standards.
• The administration, configuration and further development of our firewall and security infrastructure (e.g. WatchGuard) will form part of your day-to-day responsibilities.
• You will set up and manage VPN and remote access solutions (SSL-VPN, site-to-site VPN, IPsec) to ensure our staff can work securely from any location.
• You will administer and maintain our switching infrastructure (Aruba, Cisco and HPE) and ensure a stable and high-performance network environment.
• You will implement network segmentation strategies to enforce security policies and minimise risks.
• You will plan, configure and optimise routing within our network infrastructure.
• In the event of faults, you will analyse root causes, resolve network issues in existing client infrastructures and provide 2nd- and 3rd-level support.
• You will assist with IT security audits, penetration tests and vulnerability analyses to continuously improve and harden our systems.
• You will plan and oversee complex network and security projects and document network topologies, configurations, changes and operating manuals.

Your profile

• A degree in (Business) Computer Science, a qualification as an IT Specialist (m/f/d) or an equivalent qualification.
• Several years’ professional experience in the field of network technology and IT security.
• Experience in working with firewall technologies and VPN solutions.
• A structured, solution-oriented and independent approach to work.
• Analytical thinking and a passion for complex technical challenges.
• Motivation to learn about new technologies and share knowledge within the team.
• Good command of German and English.
