Job summary

Apple Inc. in Munich invites an MS student to join the Wireless Technologies and Ecosystems team for an internship in Modem Functional Test.

You will help build an OTA test environment to verify antenna selection and test cellular technologies in live networks. You will analyze antenna selection use cases, explore state-of-the-art approaches, and contribute to implementing solutions while developing Python-based test scripts and documenting results.

Qualifications

• MS student in Electrical Engineering, Wireless Communications or equivalent.
• Programming experience, in particular using Python
• Deep technical understanding of cellular technologies, especially RF and antennas technologies
• Good communication skills in both written and spoken English

Responsibilities

• Deliver a test environment to test antenna selection algorithm in a live network environment.
• Analyze antenna selection use cases and cover them with the planned approach.
• Explore state-of-the-art options and determine the best solution to implement.
• Contribute to build the selected solution and verify requirement fulfilment

Description

Project: “Antenna selection Verification Over-the-Air (OTA)”:This project will deliver a test environment to test Antenna selection algorithm in a live network environment:- Analysis of antenna selection algorithm and use cases to be covered- Explore state of the art as well as internal option to cover intended use cases, solution to be explored can involve a combination of robotic and SW driven methodology- Perform use case coverage analysis and give assessment of best option to select- Based on selected solution, contribute to build it and confirm requirement fulfilment

Minimum Qualifications

• MS student in Electrical Engineering, Wireless Communications or equivalent.
• Programming experience, in particular using Python
• Deep technical understanding of cellular technologies, especially RF and antennas technologies
• Good communication skills in both written and spoken English

Preferred Qualifications

• Keen interest in cellular communications
• Knowledge of 4G/5G technology and interest to further it
• Interest in Cellular Modem Verification Testing and Robotics
• Good programming experience, including troubleshooting - Python
