Zusammenfassung

ZEISS Group is seeking motivated students to join a hands-on internship focused on developing embedded Linux systems for cutting-edge hardware demonstrators in medical devices, microscopy, and semiconductor manufacturing. You will work in a team of scientists and researchers, prototyping and validating new software and hardware concepts in the lab.

You will gain experience with desktop Linux, embedded platforms and rapid prototyping, while benefiting from close mentorship and flexible working

Qualifikationen

  • Enrolled in a bachelor’s or master’s program in electrical or computer engineering, physics or related field.
  • Hands-on experience with Desktop Linux and kernel to hardware interfaces is desirable.
  • Experience with embedded systems such as Raspberry Pi or microcontrollers is beneficial.

Aufgaben

  • Develop embedded Linux systems for hardware demonstrators in medical, microscopy and semiconductor contexts.
  • Prototype and validate new software/hardware concepts hands-on in the lab with a team of researchers.
  • Contribute to real projects while gaining practical experience and mentorship.

At ZEISS, you won’t just write code - you’ll work on hardware demonstrators evaluating new technologies for medical devices, microscopy and semiconductor manufacturing. As part of a team of scientists and research engineers, you will spend at least 6 months developing embedded Linux systems, integrating cameras, displays, and SoCs to prototype and validate new software/hardware concepts hands-on in the lab.

Your Profile
  • You are enrolled in a bachelor’s or master’s program in electrical engineering, computer engineering, physics or a related field
  • You have experience with Desktop Linux and a genuine interest in how it works under the hood - from kernel to hardware interfaces
  • You have first hands-on experience with embedded systems, such as Raspberry Pi or microcontrollers
  • You are curious, proactive and enjoy learning by doing - rapid prototyping gets you excited
  • You communicate well in English and/or German
  • The internship lasts approximately 6 months and can be followed by a bachelor’s or master’s thesis
