Job summary

KWS SAAT SE & Co. KGaA is seeking an International Production Lead Oilseed Rape to steer the rapeseed production team from Einbeck, manage stocks, and optimize processes with digital methods.

The role involves global collaboration, cross-country planning, and ensuring supply meets market demand in quality and quantity. The ideal candidate has a degree in agriculture, team leadership experience, and strong English communication.

Qualifications

• University degree in agriculture or a related subject; focus on agriculture is preferred.
• Experience in leading teams and stakeholder management.
• Experience with digitalization and innovation in production processes.
• Strong communication skills with diverse internal and external stakeholders.
• Fluency in English (written and spoken); additional languages are a plus.
• Willingness for national/international travel up to 15% and a valid class B license.

Responsibilities

• Lead the rapeseed production team in line with KWS values and develop talent.
• Transform and optimize production processes using digital and autonomous methods.
• Create global production plans for required seed types in collaboration with countries and portfolio management.
• Manage stocks to meet strategic and commercial goals and communicate sales/delivery capacity with Crop Lead Oilseed Rape.
• Oversee seed reproduction and processing partners; identify new production areas and partners.
• Coordinate test production and collaborate with Research to develop seed treatment solutions.
• Interact with production teams across units and partners to identify synergies.

KWS SAAT SE & Co. KGaA is looking for a dedicated International Production Lead Oilseed Rape(m/f/d) to digitally advance our rapeseed department. If you have a passion for process optimization of seed production and want to use your expertise in an international environment, then this is your opportunity. Your main task will be to lead the rapeseed production team and to ensure the supply of rapeseed according to market requirements (quality and quantity).

This exciting and varied full-time position at our headquarters in Einbeck (Lower Saxony/Germany) is permanent. Hybrid work is possible.

Your new challenge includes:

• Leading the production team in line with KWS values as well as fostering talent development
• You will transform and enhance our existing production processes through the use of new digital and autonomous methods
• Creation of global production plans based on the required seed (certified seed, trial seed and basic seed) in collaboration with other countries and internal portfolio management
• Management of stocks with regard to strategic and commercial objectives (seed quality and quantity) and communication of sales and delivery capability in consultation with the Crop LeadOilseed Rape
• Management of seed reproduction and processing partners
• Identification of new production areas, locations and partners, coordination of test production
• Close cooperation with KWS Research to develop new solutions for seed treatment
• Regular exchange with the production teams of other business units & production partners to identify synergies.

Your profile:

• University degree in agriculture or a related subject with a focus on agriculture, e.g. agribusiness or business administration with an affinity for agriculture
• Experience in the production of hybrid seeds is an advantage
• Sound knowledge of plant cultivation and plant production
• You have experience in leading teams and interacting with various internal and external stakeholders
• Self-driven and innovative way of working, especially in the area of digitalization and innovation
• You are assertive, quick on the uptake and have a strong team spirit
• You are familiar with the relevant IT systems (MS Office, SAP)
• You have excellent communication skills with different target groups
• You are fluent in English (written and spoken), knowledge of another language (e.g. German, French) is an advantage
• Willingness for occasional national and international business trips (up to 15%) and a class B driver's license
