Discover Recruitment is seeking an experienced SAP Basis Consultant for an in-house role in the Cologne area. You will own and operate complex SAP environments, including S/4HANA and BW, ensuring stability and driving ongoing development.

The role covers installations, upgrades, migrations, system copies and performance optimization, with involvement in transformation projects such as S/4HANA, Fiori and cloud technologies. Hybrid work is offered.

Qualifications

• Several years of professional experience in SAP Basis administration and support.
• Strong experience with SAP ERP, S/4HANA and BW landscapes.
• Practical experience with SAP HANA and other databases (Oracle/MaxDB/DB2).
• Expertise in SAP installations, upgrades, migrations and system copies.
• Experience analysing performance issues and complex system errors.
• Familiarity with SAP monitoring tools (e.g., HANA cockpit).
• Experience with ITSM processes and transformation projects is beneficial.

Responsabilités

Languages - Fluent German and English Are you an experienced SAP Basis Consultant looking for an in-house role where you can take ownership of complex SAP environments and play a key role in their ongoing development? We're working with a large, established organisation that is continuing to invest in its SAP landscape, including S/4HANA, SAP BTP and modern cloud technologies. As an SAP Basis Consultant, you'll be responsible for the stability, performance and ongoing development of the SAP environment, while also getting involved in major transformation and migration projects?

The Role

• Installing, configuring and maintaining SAP systems, databases and underlying operating systems.
• Taking responsibility for the administration and operation of complex SAP system landscapes, including ERP, S/4HANA and BW.
• Managing SAP database environments, particularly SAP HANA, as well as other database technologies.
• Carrying out SAP upgrades, patching, system and client copies, migrations and maintenance activities.
• Supporting major SAP transformation projects, including S/4HANA, Fiori and cloud/SaaS initiatives.
• Monitoring system performance and investigating complex technical issues.
• Providing 2nd and 3rd level support, troubleshooting system errors and identifying sustainable solutions.
• Working with modern SAP technologies such as SAP BTP and Cloud ALM.

What We're Looking For

• Several years of professional experience in SAP Basis administration and support.
• Strong experience working with SAP system landscapes such as ERP, S/4HANA and/or BW.
• Practical experience with SAP HANA and ideally additional database technologies such as Oracle, MaxDB or DB2.
• Strong knowledge of SAP installations, upgrades, migrations and system copies.
• Experience analysing and resolving performance issues and complex system errors.
• Familiarity with SAP monitoring and administration tools such as HANA Cockpit.
• Experience with IT service management / ITSM processes.
• Exposure to S/4HANA transformation, Fiori, SAP BTP or cloud technologies would be advantageous.
• Confident communication skills with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Fluent German and English language
