Zusammenfassung

Edri in Essen, Germany, seeks an experienced HSE professional to lead group health, safety and environmental policy across 11 countries. You will design standards, coach country leaders and drive risk-based improvements.

You will promote training, audits and incident investigations, while embedding safe practices in supplier selection and performance reviews. Hybrid work, bonus potential and a €5,000 training budget are offered.

Qualifikationen

• Relevant HSE qualification or degree and strong knowledge of health, safety and environmental management systems.
• Experience leading HSE across multiple countries, sites or projects.
• Ability to translate requirements into practical risk-reduction actions.

• Embed HSE in procurement, onboarding and performance reviews.

Your mission

• Develop and maintain group HSE policy, minimum standards, roles, escalation routes and stop-work principles
• Advise and coach country management on practical implementation, local risk priorities and suitable controls
• Promote robust risk assessments, method statements, permits, PPE and safe working practices; coordinate risk-based reviews and audits
• Ensure consistent reporting of incidents, near misses and high-potential events; facilitate root-cause analysis, corrective actions and cross-country learning
• Build fit-for-purpose training, toolbox talks and safety campaigns; encourage visible leadership and speaking up
• Embed HSE expectations in supplier selection, contracts, onboarding and performance reviews
• Define meaningful HSE indicators, improve digital reporting and provide concise insights and recommendations to the CEO and leadership team
• Identify and scale good practices across countries, balancing common standards with local legal and operational needs

Your profile

• Relevant HSE qualification or degree, with sound knowledge of occupational health, safety and environmental management systems
• Proven HSE experience across multiple countries, sites, projects or contractor-led operations; able to navigate different legal and cultural contexts
• Translates requirements into workable, proportionate solutions and focuses on real risk reduction rather than bureaucracy
• Credible adviser who can challenge constructively, build trust and enable managers without taking over their statutory responsibilities
• Clear written and spoken English; able to make complex topics simple for executives, managers, employees and partners. Knowledge of German is a plus
• Skilled in risk assessment, audits, incident investigation, root-cause analysis, corrective-action tracking and KPI interpretation
• Independent, resilient and confident in escalating serious concerns; demonstrates a strong safety mindset and high ethical standards
• Willing and able to travel regularly across the 11 countries and work effectively with dispersed teams
