intive seeks an HMI Specification & UX Integration Specialist (m/f/d) in Stuttgart to lead UI/HMI design ownership for Android Automotive. You will create and hand over specs, wireframes and prototypes, coordinating across internal teams and external partners to ensure brand-aligned, feasible implementations.

You will work with tools like Figma, Jira and Confluence, while applying automotive safety and UX standards. Fluent German and good English are required, with a Class B license desirable.

Qualifikationen

• Degree in Interaction/UX Design, Media Informatics, Industrial Design, CS with UX focus or equivalent.
• Experience specifying and overseeing complex UI/HMI, preferably in automotive.
• Confident use of design tools (Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD, Axure, InVision); adapt prototypes.
• Experience creating flow/state charts, wireframes and technical handover documents.
• Experience collaborating with software teams and external partners; familiar with agile processes (Jira/Confluence) is a plus.
• Structured, result-oriented and communicative; strong moderation and alignment skills.
• Reliable, independent work approach; affinity for digital topics and automotive series development.
• Very good German and good English skills; Class B driving license desirable.

Open Position: HMI Specification & UX Integration Specialist (m/f/d)

Responsibilities

• Take technical ownership of design and interaction concepts and ensure consistent implementation that meets user and brand goals.
• Assess concepts for feasibility in a series-production Android Automotive environment; identify technical, safety or regulatory adaptation needs and initiate required changes.
• Create and maintain implementation and handover specifications (screens, flow & state charts, implementation notes, Car App templates) for development partners.
• Prepare prototype adjustments, wireframes and mockups for validation and support implementation in Android development environments.
• Closely accompany the implementation phase with internal teams and external development partners; coordinate feedback loops and prioritization.
• Support validations, usability checks and release reviews; track open items through to series release.
• Document changes, maintain specification baselines and present results in workshops and review meetings with stakeholders.

Basic Qualifications

• Degree in Interaction/UX Design, Media Informatics, Industrial Design, Computer Science with a UX focus, or equivalent.
• Experience specifying and overseeing complex user interfaces (UI/HMI), preferably in the automotive domain.
• Confident use of common HMI/design tools (Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD, Axure, InVision, etc.); ability to adapt prototypes and mockups.
• Practical experience creating flow/state charts, wireframes and technical handover documents.
• Experience collaborating with software development teams and external partners; familiarity with agile processes and tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence) is an advantage.
• Structured, result-oriented and communicative working style; strong moderation and alignment skills.
• Reliable and independent work approach.
• Affinity for digital topics and interest in automotive series development.

Additional HMI & Android Automotive Requirements

• Understanding of input methods and UX patterns for cars: touch, rotary/knob, steering-wheel controls, voice interaction - design for glanceability and low driver distraction.
• Experience with multi-display / cluster vs. head-unit layouts and cross-display coordination (infotainment, instrument cluster, HUD).
• Knowledge of platform constraints and performance optimization: GPU/CPU limits, memory constraints, compositor/SurfaceFlinger behavior, display composition, refresh rates and latency mitigation.
• Experience with localization/internationalization, accessibility (e.g., screen readers, high-contrast modes) and scalability across resolutions and languages for series products.
• Hands-on skills in Android development and debugging: Android Studio, Kotlin/Java, Gradle, ADB, logcat, systrace/perfetto, and head-unit emulator testing.
• Experience with app vs. system UI integration on AAOS: differences between system-level HMI components and third-party car apps, lifecycle and permission/security models.
• Understanding of OTA/update flows, secure boot implications, and how updates affect HMI behavior and feature rollout.
• Awareness of automotive standards and processes (ISO 26262 functional safety, ISO/SAE 21434 cybersecurity, Automotive SPICE) and how HMI requirements integrate into safety/security workflows.
• Practical knowledge of integration and verification workflows (HIL/MIL/SIL where applicable, system integration, in-vehicle validation) and automated testing strategies for HMI on AAOS.
• Comfortable working across multidisciplinary teams: systems engineering, SW/HW development, QA, validation, product management and suppliers.
