DESCRIPTION

We are looking for a talented Health, Safety and Environment Leader - Low Complexity - to join our team specializing in Health and Safety for our Cummins location Frankfort, KY.

RESPONSIBILITIES

To be successful in this role you will need the following:

  • Cross-Functional Relationship Building Cultivate strong partnerships across departments to align roles, responsibilities, and shared commitment to a positive HSE culture.
  • Inclusive Engagement and Communication Ensure employees are actively consulted and empowered to contribute to HSE programs, policies, and procedures—fostering ownership and accountability.
  • Expertise in Risk and Compliance Lead hazard identification, environmental aspect analysis, and risk assessments to uncover strategic improvement opportunities and close compliance gaps.
  • Strategic Planning and Execution Set clear HSE targets and objectives for the site, manage planning actions, and drive execution through to completion with precision and accountability.
  • Robust Support Infrastructure Deliver effective training, skills development, and internal communications while maintaining accurate, accessible, and compliant support content.
  • Regulatory and Legal Acumen Confidently interface with external regulatory bodies, supported by legal counsel, to ensure compliance and represent the organization effectively.
  • Operational Excellence in HSE Lead daily HSE operations with agility—resolving issues across compliance, resource management, incident response, sustainability, and more.
  • Data-Driven Performance Improvement Use metrics, audits, and legal findings to evaluate performance and drive continuous improvement through targeted, risk-based strategies.
  • Systematic Management and Review Oversee annual reviews of HSE Management Systems to ensure alignment with internal standards and drive site-wide improvements.
  • Leadership and Talent Development Coach and develop direct reports and cross-functional teams using feedback, observation, and succession planning to build future capability.
  • Commitment to Self-Development Stay ahead of emerging trends by engaging with professional HSE organizations and continuously expanding your expertise.
Education, Licenses, Certifications:

College, university, or equivalent degree required. Health, Safety and/or Environmental degree preferred. Professional certification in HSE-related field preferred.

Experience:

Intermediate level of experience required, including experience in management of health, safety and environmental ISO Standards required. Minimal management experience preferred.

QUALIFICATIONS

Support all Health and Environmental efforts at the Frankfort, Kentucky site. This would include any corporate directives, local regulatory reporting and needs, as well as employee safety concerns. This position will pro-actively advance the health and safety working conditions at the site and lead all HSE required activities.
