Job summary

Chain IQ Group AG is seeking a Head of Logistics Sourcing to lead strategic sourcing and category management across transportation, warehousing, 3PL, packaging, and related logistics. You will guide complex RFPs, drive cost optimization, and manage a team of sourcing professionals globally.

The role requires 8+ years in strategic sourcing with 2-3 years of people leadership, along with a strong track record in driving supplier performance and value creation in logistics.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in strategic sourcing or category management.

• Lead and develop a team of sourcing professionals with coaching and performance management.

Role Purpose

The Head of Logistics Sourcing is responsible for leading the strategic sourcing and category management agenda across transportation, warehousing, 3PL, packaging MRO and related logistics categories. The role drives procurement excellence through the development and execution of sourcing strategies that deliver cost optimization, supplier performance, operational efficiency, and supply chain resilience. Working closely with senior stakeholders, suppliers, and cross-functional teams, the successful candidate will lead a team of sourcing professionals, manage strategic supplier relationships, and deliver sustainable value across a complex global logistics spend portfolio.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and execute sourcing and category strategies across transportation, warehousing, 3PL, packaging, MRO and related logistics categories.
• Lead complex RFPs, RFQs, commercial negotiations, and contract execution.
• Build and maintain strategic supplier relationships to drive performance, innovation, and risk mitigation.
• Lead Total Cost of Ownership (TCO), benchmarking, market analysis, and should-cost initiatives.
• Identify and deliver value creation opportunities through demand management, process optimization, and supplier consolidation.
• Partner with senior business stakeholders to align procurement objectives with operational requirements.
• Monitor market trends, capacity constraints, inflationary impacts, and supply chain developments to inform sourcing strategies.
• Lead and develop a team of sourcing professionals, providing coaching, direction, and performance management.
• Drive continuous improvement, sustainability initiatives, and best-practice sourcing processes across the category portfolio.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree, or equivalent professional experience.
• 8+ years of strategic sourcing and/or category management experience.
• Minimum 2-3 years of people leadership experience within procurement or sourcing environments.
• Proven expertise in transportation, logistics, warehousing, or 3PL sourcing.
• Strong track record of delivering cost savings, supplier performance improvements, and commercial value.
• Experience leading complex sourcing events, negotiations, and contract management activities.
• Strong understanding of Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) and category strategy development.
• Experience working within complex, matrixed, and multi-stakeholder organizations.
• Excellent communication, influencing, and stakeholder management skills.
