KWS Lochow GmbH is seeking an experienced leader to head our Production function in Germany. In this strategic, full-time role you will optimize production processes, ensure high-quality seed supply for national and international customers, and lead the development of the German cross crops production department.

You will steer production activities, manage budgets, drive team development, and collaborate with sales, international networks, and industry partners to shape the future of seed

Qualifikationen

• Several years of proven experience in industry, ideally within the seed industry or seed production.
• Excellent German skills (spoken and written) and good English proficiency.
• Strong leadership presence, assertiveness, and the ability to manage change effectively.
• Entrepreneurial mindset with strong ownership and openness to sharing ideas across the organization.

Aufgaben

• Lead and develop Seed Production teams including trial seeds, Production Consultancy, Quality Laboratory, and Logistics.
• Steer production activities and performance by indicators (industrial indicators, financial results, production cost ratio, personal goals defined).
• Drive professional and personal development of direct reports and team members.
• Manage budget and mid-term planning (investments, personnel, cost centers, production costs).
• Take accountability for multiplication and production planning, including negotiation and coordination with external partners.
• Act as a key interface to KWS sales organization, international production networks, and crop leads.
• Shape the future of the production department by evolving structures, equipment, and crop portfolios.
• Ensure compliance with official regulations and advancing KWS internal standards and guidelines.
• Lead and contribute to strategic projects and cross-functional initiatives.
• Representing KWS and contributing actively to seed associations and industry networks.

Bring your strengths:

• Completed studies in agriculture, economics, or a related field
• Several years of proven experience in industry, ideally within the seed industry or seed production
• Demonstrated experience in leading leaders and managing complex organizational structures
• Excellent German skills (spoken and written) and good English proficiency
• Strong proficiency in MS Office and ERP systems, ideally SAP S/4
• Strong leadership presence, assertiveness, and the ability to manage change effectively
• Entrepreneurial mindset with strong ownership and openness to sharing ideas across the organization
• Proven leadership strength, combining reliability, empathy, and the ability to lead teams through change and complexity
• High flexibility and collaboration skills, with an open mindset and strong cross-functional and stakeholder engagement
• Willingness to engage in industry networks and seed associations
