QESTIT is seeking a Head of the Insurance Competence Center to lead growth, set strategic direction, and provide hands-on consulting in Germany, with a view to expanding across the DACH region.

You will drive tests, portfolio development, and pre‑sales support, coordinating with stakeholders and external test teams, while fostering a family‑oriented, flexible work environment.

Qualifications

• You bring at least 5 years of test management experience in the insurance industry and know the typical challenges of complex transformation and modernisation programmes.

Responsibilities

• Lead growth and strategic evolution of the Insurance Competence Center and establish efficient processes, data‑driven performance management and robust best practices to support it.
• In day‑to‑day project work, you use tools such as Jira, Xray, HP ALM or Azure DevOps confidently and in a structured way for planning, steering and transparency in the testing process.
• Programme and project management experience, a strong hands‑on mentality and a high sense of accountability are among your strengths, as is a careful, solution‑focused way of working.
• High flexibility and a willingness to travel come naturally to you, so you can give clients the best possible support on site and deliver projects successfully.
• Professional presence, clear communication and very good German (C1) and English skills round out your profile. ISTQB certification, ideally at Advanced Level, is a plus.

As Head of Competence Center Insurance, you take on leadership responsibility for growing our Insurance unit, set the strategic direction, provide hands‑on consulting and support the sales process with strong domain expertise to develop our established Insurance set‑up in Germany and lay the groundwork for growth and market penetration across the entire DACH region.

Responsibilities

You lead the growth and strategic evolution of our Insurance Competence Center and establish efficient processes, data‑driven performance management and robust best practices to support it.

In doing so, you continuously develop our insurance service portfolio, bring strong domain expertise into pre‑sales and uncover new business opportunities across the DACH region.

With your expertise, you own business‑driven testing initiatives, build reusable accelerators and lead insurance transformation testing from design through to delivery.

In addition, you increase the Competence Center's visibility and positioning through relevant industry formats and further establish QESTIT as a quality and transformation partner in insurance.

In daily operations, you coordinate external test teams, ensure alignment with business stakeholders, business analysis and development, and keep communication channels clear.

Creating test plans and test concepts based on project requirements falls within your area of responsibility, as does the overall planning, steering and control of all test activities.

Through the targeted use of suitable test types and test levels, you ensure that test activities are effective and keep quality and risks in view.

You evolve test strategies, drive test automation and support projects pragmatically and hands‑on whenever required.

Qualifications

You bring at least 5 years of test management experience in the insurance industry and know the typical challenges of complex transformation and modernisation programmes.

Ideally, you have already worked in the msg ecosystem (msg, msg life or msg systems) or on comparable programmes on the insurer side or in consulting.

Knowledge of common insurer programmes such as core modernisation, portfolio migration and portal and partner integration is part of your professional toolbox.

In day‑to‑day project work, you use tools such as Jira, Xray, HP ALM or Azure DevOps confidently and in a structured way for planning, steering and transparency in the testing process.

Programme and project management experience, a strong hands‑on mentality and a high sense of accountability are among your strengths, as is a careful, solution‑focused way of working.

High flexibility and a willingness to travel come naturally to you, so you can give clients the best possible support on site and deliver projects successfully.
