Job summary

Virtix Health is seeking an experienced HCC Coding professional for a 100% remote, full-time or part-time role. You will review records, abstract ICD-10-CM codes, and map diagnoses to HCC, RxHCC, and ESRD models using encoder software, with access to AHA Coding Clinic resources.

You must have 6+ months retrospective HCC coding experience plus 1 year coding overall, current AAPC/AHIMA credential (CPC, CRC, COC, RHIT, CCS, CCS-P), and be able to work from home with a reliable internet connection.

Qualifications

• Minimum 6 months of retrospective HCC coding experience plus 1 year of coding experience.
• Current AAPC or AHIMA credential required.
• Accepted credentials: CPC, CRC, COC, RHIT, CCS, or CCS-P.
• Apprenticeship designations are not accepted.
• Maintain a quality score of 95% or higher.
• Working knowledge of EMRs, Billing systems, and abstraction platforms.

Responsibilities

• Review, analyze, and code patient medical records based on client guidelines.
• Abstract ICD-10-CM codes and map to HCC, RxHCC, and ESRD models.
• Utilize encoder software and access AHA Coding Clinic resources; collaborate with the team.
• Meet or exceed a 95% quality score and project-based productivity targets.
• Follow ICD-10-CM coding guidelines and risk adjustment rules.
• Ensure privacy and security of all confidential information.

Required Experience & Credentials

• Minimum of 6 months of recent retrospective HCC coding experience, plus 1 year of coding experience

• In this role, you'll leverage your expertise in retrospective HCC coding to review medical records, abstract ICD-10-CM codes, and accurately capture diagnoses that map to HCC, RxHCC, and ESRD models. You'll work with advanced coding tools, including encoder software and access to AHA Coding Clinic resources, while collaborating with a team committed to excellence and accountability.
• Will be required to maintain a quality score of 95% or higher.
• Will be required to maintain an ongoing productivity level based on project requirements.
• Review, analyze, and code patient medical records based on client specific guidelines.
• Follow ICD-10-CM Coding Guidelines and interpret coding guidelines for accurate code assignment.
• Follow Risk Adjustment Data Abstraction Rules.
• Ensure individual compliance with all privacy and security rules and regulations and commit to the protection of all Company confidential information, including but not limited to, Personal Health Information.
• Must have working knowledge and experience with systems such as EMRs, Billing systems, abstraction platforms, etc.
• Must have a phone and reliable internet connection.
• Team Member must be able to work from home and be independent in their coding skills.
• Must be proficient in Microsoft programs like Excel and Outlook.
• Excel: you should be able to open and add to a spreadsheet, perform basic formulas like adding or multiplying.
• Outlook: you should be able to manage emails and schedule and attend meetings.
• Ability to communicate effectively and professionally both verbally and written.
• Ability to coordinate, analyze, observe, make decisions, and meet deadlines.
• May be required to perform other duties as assigned by Leadership Team Member.
