Qualifikationen

  • Abgeschlossenes Studium oder entsprechende Ausbildung in relevanten technischen Fachgebieten.
  • Erfahrung als Ground Segment Engineer oder in ähnlichen Rollen.
  • Bereitschaft, national und international zu reisen.

Aufgaben

  • Entwurf und Wartung der Grundinfrastruktur zur Kommunikation und Steuerung von Flugzeugen.

Für den Standort Immenstaad am Bodensee suchen wir:

GROUND SEGMENT ENGINEER (D/F/M)

Your tasks:

  • Design, development, and maintenance of ground infrastructure that communicates with and controls aircraft. This includes ground stations, control centers, and the associated hardware and software
  • Decompose the Ground Segment requirements to the different elements and sub-systems to ensure payload aspects are covered. Track and resolve gaps within the requirements and quantify operational and technical performances
  • Perform and document all necessary system related analyses, trade-offs, design activities at the required maturity level for utilization by the internal stakeholders
  • Contribute to the Ground Segment Interface definition related to Payload aspects (including to the external Payload ground elements and between the Control Element subsystems)
  • Involvement into the Ground Segment Validation & Verification [V&V] and Assembly, Integration and Test [AIT] concepts related to Payload aspects
  • Align with Mission Execution and Sub-Systems to ensure the definition is in line with the operational needs
  • Preparation of necessary documentation and presentation of work results

Your qualifications:

  • The work task requires knowledge and skills, which are usually provided by a relevant, completed degree with a standard period of study of up to 4 years in the area in Mechanical, Electrical or Aerospace Engineering or similar or a completed technical apprenticeship (e. g. in space sector) with appropriate further training/education or completed vocational training with a corresponding, particularly extensive, subject-specific additional qualification. The overall knowledge and experience required may have been acquired in other ways
  • Knowledge and experience in the above-mentioned areas of responsibility
  • Working experience as an Ground Segment Engineer or a similar role
  • Advanced knowledge of payload systems, including design, integration, and testing
  • Experience with engineering analysis tools (Matlab, etc.)
  • Profound knowledge of Ground Segment Requirements & Architecture, Ground Safety & Mission Assurance needs (incl. SW QA aspects) such as Doors, Jira, Python, C++, Agile methodology
  • Excellent engineering approach to payload design, integration, and validation
  • Test planning, V&V / Ground AIT documentation, coordination, and data analysis
  • Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and suppliers
  • Very good written and spoken English & German
  • Willingness to travel domestically and abroad
