Overview

The AWS Infrastructure Energy Team (IET) is seeking a results-oriented Grid Delivery Manager to deliver large-scale critical HV / MV grid interconnection projects within EMEA under tight deadlines. The ideal candidate will have a high-level technical understanding of critical HV / MV infrastructure projects including substations, cables and overhead lines, with a minimum of 5+ years’ experience delivering HV & MV infrastructure projects/programs from design to energization. The candidate will need to possess strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate with diverse teams such as design engineering, construction, planning, environmental and real estate to ensure delivery on tight timelines. Stakeholder management and weekly reporting on key project risks & issues at senior management, director and vice president level will be the candidate’s responsibility. The candidate will drive the grid infrastructure delivery program, standardize processes, develop tools for delivery executions and support financial budgeting.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) or equivalent certification
  • Bachelor\'s Degree in Engineering, Business, Construction or related field
  • Demonstrated ability to operate and thrive with partial information and high levels of ambiguity
  • 5+ years of experience in building power substations working with Utilities and understanding their environment and culture.
  • Possess strong organizational, communication and team building skills. Must build strong working relationships, both internally and externally stakeholders.
  • Professional written and verbal communication in both German and English
  • Experience in analyzing cost / benefit trade-offs across a strategic portfolio
  • Ability to travel up to 20% and International Business experience – an understanding of how to successfully transact business in multiple cultural contexts as well as experience directly managing international teams is a plus.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Master’s Degree (MBA / MS) preferred.
  • Experience designing substations or other energy infrastructure.
  • Experience working for utilities and with or for energy regulators.
  • Experience with IT infrastructure, data centers and cloud services.
  • Ability to communicate in additional languages
