The AWS Infrastructure Energy Team (IET) is seeking a results‑orientated individual to join in the role of Grid Delivery. This role you will be responsible for delivering large‑scale critical HV / MV grid interconnection projects within EMEA under tight deadlines. The ideal candidate for this role will have a high‑level technical understanding of critical HV / MV infrastructure projects including substations, cables and overhead lines with a minimum of 5 years experience in delivering HV & MV infrastructure projects/programs from design to energization. The candidate will need to possess strong communication skills and ability to deliver with diverse teams such as design engineering, construction, planning, environmental and real‑estate teams to ensure delivery to tight timelines. Stakeholder management and weekly reporting on key project risks & issues at senior management, director and vice‑president level will be the candidate’s responsibility. The candidate will drive the grid infrastructure delivery program, standardize processes, develop tools for delivery executions and support financial budgeting.

Qualifications
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) or equivalent certification
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Business, Construction or related field
  • Demonstrated ability to operate and thrive with partial information and high levels of ambiguity
  • 5 years of experience building power substations working with utilities and understanding their environment and culture
  • Possess strong organizational, communication and team‑building skills. Must build strong working relationships both internally and externally with stakeholders
  • Professional written and verbal communication in both German and English
  • Experience in analyzing cost/benefit trade‑offs across a strategic portfolio
  • Ability to travel up to 20% and international business experience; understanding of how to successfully transact business in multiple cultural contexts; experience directly managing international teams is a plus
  • Master’s Degree (MBA / MS) preferred
  • Experience designing substations or other energy infrastructure
  • Experience working for utilities and with or for energy regulators
  • Experience with IT infrastructure, data centers and cloud services
  • Ability to communicate in additional languages
