Job summary

Voith Group is seeking a Global Commercial Project & Risk Manager for the project execution phase at its Heidenheim site. You will shape the global CPM organization, standardize processes and KPIs, and lead CPM teams across units, while actively steering selected projects and guiding complex bids through successful handover.

The role requires 8+ years in international plant/construction projects, strong leadership, English fluency, and willingness to travel ~20%.

Qualifications

• Degree in law, economics, business administration, industrial engineering or comparable field.
• Knowledge in contract and commercial management for turnkey/EPC projects with standard regulations.
• 8+ years in international plant or construction projects in commercial execution or bid processing.
• Basic knowledge in finance, accounting, controlling, taxes and insurance.
• Experience with project management tools like Primavera and SAP is advantageous.
• Fluent English; German or other languages are a plus.
• Strong leadership in line or matrix organizations and willingness to travel internationally (~20%).

Your tasks

• As Global Commercial Project & Risk Manager for the project execution phase, you will be an important contributor to develop the global Commercial Project Management (CPM) organization across all business units of Voith Hydro.
• Develop and implement the global CPM strategy in line with corporate goals and customer expectations.
• Standardize and continuously improve CPM processes, tools, and KPIs in all operating units.
• Provide professional leadership to the business units’ CPMs in the global matrix organization and promote best practices and knowledge sharing.
• Operational hands-on involvement in daily projects to steer, contribute and actively drive projects to success for selected focus projects.
• Support and escalation management for critical or endangered projects.
• Build and implement a global training and certification program for CPM.
• Implement and ensure active global risk management in project execution.
• Monitor global project portfolio performance together with the Global Head of Project and regularly report to the Board of Management.
• For special and complex projects, involvement and guidance of global teams at the end of the bid period to assure smooth commercial and contractual handover towards project execution.
• Foster a culture of commercial excellence, accountability, transparency and risk awareness.

Your profile

• Degree in law, economics, business administration, industrial engineering, or a comparable field of study.
• Knowledge in contract and commercial management, ideally in the context of turnkey, EPC projects, as well as experience with common standards and regulations (FIDIC, NEC, etc.).
• Solid professional experience in commercial project execution or commercial bid processing, plus 8 years of experience in international plant or construction projects.
• Basic knowledge in finance and accounting, controlling, taxes, and insurance.
• Experience with project management tools, planning tools (e.g. Primavera), and SAP is an advantage.
• Fluent English skills; German and other languages are a plus.
• Leadership skills in a line or matrix organization.
• Willingness to travel internationally (approx. 20%).
• A pragmatic and solution-oriented approach, strong personal work organization, initiative, and collaborative spirit.
