Salary (base): €70,000 - €90,000, up to €100,000 p.a for exceptional talent

About the Company

Our client is a fast-growing digital healthcare business focused on improving patient access to regulated therapies, with a strong current emphasis on medical cannabis in Germany and is part of a well-established group of companies (since 2018) that has played a meaningful role in shaping the regulated medical cannabis landscape across Europe and beyond. The group brings together complementary capabilities across the value chain, including import and distribution, GMP‑aligned manufacturing, and the development of pharmaceutical‑grade medical cannabis products for European and North American markets.

At its core, the group’s foundation includes a classic B2B distribution business supplying pharmacies with high‑quality medical cannabis products. Building on this, the group has expanded into digital health and telemedicine, with a dedicated Telehealth clinic entity that is already operational and positioned for its next phase of growth.

A key part of this ecosystem is a close cooperation with a pharmacy partner, where our client provides the full digital and commercial engine, including IT infrastructure, online shop capabilities, marketing, performance strategy, and social media, while the pharmacy focuses on dispensing and fulfilment. This integrated model creates a strong platform to scale patient access while maintaining the standards expected in a tightly regulated healthcare category.

The Telehealth business remains intentionally lean and entrepreneurial, supported by the group’s broader infrastructure, regulatory experience, and market positioning. This combination offers the momentum of a startup environment with the strategic stability and resources of an established healthcare group, ideal for a General Manager who wants to build, scale, and shape a high‑impact digital health business within medical cannabis.

About the Role

We are looking for a commercially driven General Manager with deep performance marketing expertise and strong general management instincts to lead our German business into its next growth phase.

This is not a “website‑only” role. A major part of the challenge (and opportunity) lies in owning and improving the end‑to‑end patient funnel and the backend platform experience, ensuring that marketing, product, operations, and compliance work seamlessly together.

The role is intentionally titled General Manager - with clear potential to grow into a broader Managing Director scope over time. We’re looking for someone who is excited to build and scale a lean, high‑impact business unit in a regulated category, with a hands‑on mindset and a strong grasp of commercial and financial fundamentals.

Key Responsibilities
Commercial & Growth Ownership
  • Own commercial performance in Germany across revenue, CAC, LTV, conversion, and retention.
  • Lead and scale performance marketing (SEM, paid social, affiliates, CRM, CRO).
  • Build a growth engine that remains compliant and resilient amid evolving regulations.
  • Develop strategic opportunities for product and category expansion within regulated healthcare.
Digital Product & Funnel Excellence
  • Work closely with product / tech to improve both frontend and backend journey performance.
  • Optimise the full funnel : lead → onboarding → consult → prescription → delivery.
  • Drive automation, data quality, and operational scalability.
Operational Leadership
  • Oversee day‑to‑day operational performance including scheduling, patient support, and partner workflows.
  • Ensure excellent patient experience and service reliability at scale.
  • Establish SOPs and clear process ownership across the business unit.
Regulatory & Clinical Governance
  • Ensure compliance with relevant German frameworks (e.g., HWG, GDPR and applicable healthcare requirements).
  • Support effective collaboration with physicians and pharmacy partners.
  • Maintain strong documentation and quality oversight.
Team & Culture Building
  • Build and lead a high‑performance team across marketing, operations, and support.
  • Create a culture of accountability, transparency, and entrepreneurial ownership.
  • Report on KPIs and performance to Group leadership.
Physician Network & Hybrid Expansion
  • Onboard, and manage a scalable network of physical doctors and practices across key German cities.
  • Support the operational rollout of a hybrid care model alongside the existing telemedicine platform.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure practice capacity, including interim solutions where appropriate.
Candidate Profile
Must‑Have Experience
  • 5‑8+ years in performance marketing, e‑commerce, D2C, or digital business leadership.
  • Proven track record scaling budgets and improving funnel‑based growth metrics.
  • Strong commercial and financial acumen; comfortable with forecasting, unit economics, and P&L logic.
  • Hands‑on experience in a startup or scale‑up environment, ideally having built or significantly scaled a digital business function.
Nice‑to‑Have
  • Experience in regulated industries (digital health, pharma, telemedicine, fintech, etc.).
  • Understanding of the German healthcare and advertising landscape.
  • Exposure to medical cannabis is a plus, but not required.
