General Manager DACH & EXP at Sellpy

We’re looking for a data-savvy and entrepreneurial General Manager to head up multiple Sellpy markets in Europe.

In this role, you’ll be fully responsible for market performance, brand presence, and customer experience for buyers and sellers across multiple markets. You’ll collaborate across teams - from marketing and operations to product and customer service - to drive sustainable growth and deliver on our mission to make second-hand the first choice.

Initially, you will focus on Germany as one of our most important markets and growth engine, while also building Sellpy’s presence and strategy in other European expansion markets.

In short, you will
  • Be fully responsible for the P&L of our DACH & EXP markets and own key goals like growth, profitability, customer acquisition, retention and ensuring a great service experience

  • Create and run the marketing strategy for your regions, and manage the budget

  • Grow our selling service by attracting and retaining sellers, increasing inflow, and ensuring a high-quality assortment

  • Attract and retain buyers with strong local branding, campaigns, and a compelling value proposition. Drive strategies to boost sales, customer loyalty and reduce costs

  • Work closely with operations, marketing, customer service, and product teams to continuously improve the buyer & seller experience

  • Act as the local voice in a cross-functional setup. Utilise data, local insights, and customer feedback in order to define priorities for the organisation

  • Manage a team of up to 7 FTE and lead through cross-functional collaboration

  • SQL / BigQuery as well as Redash for data visualisation

Requirements
  • B.S. or M.S. degree in business, marketing or other relevant field

  • 4–6 years of experience in consulting, marketing, sales and/or business development

  • Strong analytical mindset and data-driven decision-making skills

  • Experience of working with P&Ls, budgeting, and business case development

  • Experience leading a small team

  • Deep understanding of the German market landscape and customer

  • Excellent collaboration skills across teams as well as internal and external stakeholders & partners

  • Relevant experience in a consumer-facing business, ideally within e-commerce, fashion or a marketplace

  • Entrepreneurial DNA and a strong bias toward action

  • High customer service orientation and empathy for both buyers and sellers

  • Fluent in both German and English, written and spoken

We’d be impressed if you have
  • Customer & market understanding of further European markets (e.g., AT, NL, BE, FR, CZ, PL)

  • Further relevant language skills (e.g., Dutch, Polish, Czech, French)

  • BigQuery / SQL skills

  • A passion for sustainability and circularity

  • Worked in a fast-growing, product-focused startup environment

Location

Our office is located in Kreuzberg, Berlin. In this role we expect high office presence (ca. 80%) and infrequent travels to other Sellpy locations (e.g. Stockholm, Poland).
