WePush in Berlin is seeking an AI Product Engineer to design and implement backend services, APIs, and AI-assisted workflows. You will collaborate with the founders and product team to ship features end-to-end, owning deployments, monitoring, and reliability across the stack.

You’ll apply strong SQL, data modelling, and cloud fundamentals to scale our platform for brands and creators. You’ll work in a hands-on, ownership-driven environment that values speed and quality.

Qualifikationen

• Strong backend engineering experience in production environments.
• Excellent knowledge of SQL, relational databases, transactions, locking, and data modelling.
• Experience with Docker, Linux, cloud infrastructure, and CI/CD.
• Ability to reason about concurrency, idempotency, partial failures, and recovery.
• Strong debugging skills across the full system.
• Startup experience or strong ownership and execution mindset.
• Experience with AI coding agents to plan, implement, test, review, and document software.
• Ability to review and improve AI-generated code for production readiness.

What you’ll do

Requirements

What we’re looking for:

• Strong backend engineering experience in production environments.
• Excellent knowledge of SQL, relational databases, transactions, locking, and data modelling.
• Experience with Docker, Linux, cloud infrastructure, and CI/CD.
• A good understanding of queues, scheduled jobs, APIs, networking, security, and observability.
• Confidence reasoning about concurrency, idempotency, partial failures, and recovery.
• Strong debugging skills across the full system.
• Startup experience or a strong bias toward ownership and execution.
• Good product judgment and an instinct for avoiding unnecessary complexity.
• Experience using AI coding agents to plan, implement, test, review, and document software.
• The ability to critically review, iterate on, and improve AI-generated code until it is high-quality and production-ready.

Our stack includes TypeScript, Node.js, React, PostgreSQL, MariaDB, Docker, Linux, and Hack. Experience with every technology is not required, we care more about strong fundamentals and the ability to learn.

AI-native engineering:
Using AI agents is a requirement for this role, not an optional productivity tool.
We expect you to use them throughout the development process: exploring unfamiliar code, planning changes, implementing features, writing tests, investigating failures, reviewing work, and maintaining documentation.
This does not mean accepting generated code without understanding it. You remain responsible for architecture, security, correctness, and production outcomes. We are looking for someone who knows how to give agents useful context, break work into verifiable steps, review their output critically, and use them to increase both speed and quality.
