Your Responsibilities
THE WHY

To end COPV failure in spaceflight. Every high-performance pressure vessel starts with exceptional materials and reliable processes. Our TowPreg team develops and validates the manufacturing processes that make our composite structures possible. As a Working Student, you support the team in turning ideas into reliable production processes through hands-on testing, prototyping, and continuous improvement.

The What

You support the TowPreg team in laboratory work, machine operation, coupon testing, and fast prototyping. From preparing test samples to documenting results, you take ownership of your assigned tasks and help ensure our processes are accurate, repeatable, and continuously improving.

You ensure:
  • test specimens are prepared, tested, and documented with full traceability
  • laboratory and machine activities are carried out reliably and with high quality
  • deviations are identified early and communicated immediately
  • improvements to processes and workflows are actively contributed

You don't just support experiments. You own your work from preparation to documentation.

Your tasks in detail and by priority

Manufacture and prepare test specimens: Produce, prepare, and organize coupon samples for testing while ensuring complete traceability and quality documentation.
High Performance: Precision from the very first step.
Support laboratory testing and prototyping: Operate laboratory equipment and production machines while assisting with testing, prototype builds, and process development activities.
Togetherness: Engineering advances through collaboration.
Document results and communicate deviations: Record test results carefully, maintain documentation, and immediately elevate any unexpected findings or anomalies.
Candor: Problems become opportunities when surfaced early.
Contribute to process improvements: Identify opportunities to improve workflows, testing procedures, or laboratory organization and actively suggest new ideas.
Playfulness: Curiosity drives innovation.
Take ownership of assigned tasks: Execute testing and prototype activities independently while maintaining high quality standards and minimizing operator errors.
Accountability: Own the process. Own the outcome.

YOUR PROFILE
  • Currently enrolled: Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Materials Science, Polymer Engineering, or a comparable technical degree.
  • Hands-on mindset: You enjoy working in the lab, around machines, and building real hardware. You are not afraid to get your hands dirty.
  • Practical experience: You have gained first experience through laboratory work, workshops, university projects, Formula Student, prototyping, or manufacturing.
  • Technical skills: You have experience with CAD software and ideally 3D printing. You are comfortable using Excel and handling technical data.
  • Manufacturing interest: First experience with manufacturing processes is a plus. Knowledge of composites or polymer materials is an advantage but not required.
  • Ownership & curiosity: You enjoy learning new things, work independently, and take responsibility for the quality of your work.
  • Language skills: German B1–B2 minimum and English C1 minimum for communication in our international team.
  • On-site presence: This is a hands‑on position requiring regular on‑site work in Taufkirchen.
What We Offer
  • Personal responsibility & creative freedom: You actively contribute to the further development of our production technologies.
  • Flexible working hours & mobile working: Work-life balance is not an empty promise with us.
  • Start-up spirit meets aerospace: flat hierarchies, short decision-making processes and room for innovation.
  • Individual benefits: Choose between the Deutschland Ticket, Egym‑Wellpass or a tax‑free benefit with the Give Card (50€ net each month).
  • Fresh food every day: Shared lunch break with healthy, varied dishes.
  • Alpine view included: Our roof terrace invites you to relax after work.
  • Further development guaranteed: You will grow both professionally and personally through exciting projects and exchanges with experts.
  • We live and breathe team culture: whether it's a tech talk, team event or after-work - we celebrate successes together.
