Atlanta Technical College seeks a Full-Time Avionics Instructor to lead the avionics program within the Industrial & Transportation Technologies department. The role involves teaching day and evening classes, developing syllabi, and coordinating with the program chair and adjunct instructors.

Responsibilities include maintaining course shells in Ultra/Blackboard, managing attendance and grades, advising students, and contributing to recruitment efforts while reporting to the Dean and Program

Qualifikationen

  • Associates degree in Avionics or Aircraft Electronics from an accredited college or university.
  • Demonstrated FCC or CET licenses.
  • Post-secondary teaching experience is a plus.

  • Manage classroom by logging attendance and reporting no-shows, assigning and reporting grades in a timely manner.

Job Description: Atlanta Technical College (ATC) is seeking highly qualified applicants for its Full-Time Instructor (Avionics) position in the Industrial & Transportation Technologies department of the Academic & Student Affairs division. This position is located on Atlanta Technical College’s main campus, just South of Downtown Atlanta.

Under general supervision of the Dean ofthe Industrial & Transportation Technology department and Program Chairperson,theFull-Time Avionics Instructoris responsible for delivering education services to students through various resources and platforms.This position requiresutilizing techniques that facilitate adult learning styles and demonstrates varying techniques in the Avionics program.

Duties and responsibilities include, but may not be limited to, the following:

  • Lead instructor for the avionics program with program oversight from the aviation maintenance program coordinator.
  • Teachday and/or eveningavionicsclasses.
  • PreparesyllabusandothermaterialssuchasPowerPointpresentationsusedclassroom instruction and assistwithcurriculumdevelopment.
  • Set up avionics program courses In Ultra (Blackboard) and maintain_current_master shells.
  • Manageclassroombyloggingattendance,andreportingno-shows,assigningandreportinggradesinatimelymannerGradestudentassignments, as well assubmittingfinalgrades.
  • Grade students and provide timely submission of grades each semester.
  • Provide program oversight or any adjunct instructors teaching avionics courses, including their grade submissions.
  • Provide program and registration advisement to avionics students.
  • Attend department, division, and college-wide meetings as required.
  • Serve on department, division, and college-wide committees as requested.
  • Attend avionics IFCC meetings as scheduled by the Technical College System or Georgia (TCSG).
  • Assist with program recruitment efforts.
  • Advise students about the process to register to take their FCC and/or NCATT-AET Exams;and
  • Performotherprogram-relatedduties,asassigned.

  • Strong instructional design and classroom management skills
  • Skill in the operation of computers and job-related software programs
  • Decision making and problem-solving skills
  • Skill in interpersonal relations and in dealing with the public, with a positive attitude
  • Oral and written communication skills

Minimum Qualifications:

Must possess and demonstrate the following:

  • Associatesdegreein Avionics or Aircraft Electronics from an accredited college or university.
  • Demonstrated FCC or CET licenses.
  • Post-secondary teaching experience is a plus.

May be required to work at other locations and other locations within the community.
