Job Description
The Maintenance Worker supports the installation, maintenance, and repair of hospital equipment, grounds, and facilities. This role involves assisting with routine and emergency maintenance tasks, ensuring the hospital’s physical environment remains functional, safe, and in compliance with policies and regulations. Other duties may be assigned as needed.
High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Basic literacy and numeracy skills (ability to read and write).
Basic problem-solving and attention to detail.

Ability to walk or stand for extended periods.
Frequent bending, stooping, reaching, and crawling required for maintenance tasks.
Capable of lifting up to 50 pounds and pushing/pulling up to 300 pounds for moving equipment or supplies.
Ability to follow routine written and verbal instructions.
Reports for work regularly with a minimum number of absences and tardiness. Gives notice and submits justifications when absence or tardiness is unavoidable. Receives authorization when time off is needed. Observes appropriate lunch and break schedules.
Manages own time and uses appropriate work methods, techniques, and equipment to achieve the most effective and efficient result in the time available. Is mutually respectful of time and schedule of others. Balances multiple priorities and focuses on desired outcome(s).

Uses time clock consistently when coming to work, leaving work, lunch breaks, and anytime leaving the facility grounds for personal reasons; turns in adjustments, leave requests, etc. timely.
Assist in the maintenance, repair, and upkeep of hospital buildings, grounds, and equipment.
Perform basic carpentry repairs and support construction projects.
Assist with HVAC, electrical, and mechanical maintenance under supervisor direction.
Paint interior and exterior walls, ceilings, trim, parking lots, and handrails using appropriate tools.
Move and assemble scaffolding and ladders for repair and painting tasks.
Maintain and clean interior and exterior light fixtures and windows.
Operate lawnmowers, tractors, weed-eaters, blowers, and other groundskeeping equipment.
Apply rodent control measures as needed for facility safety.
Sort, stock, and store supplies and equipment in designated areas.
Maintain accountability and accurate records of supplies and equipment usage.
Ensure work areas, including the maintenance shop, are organized, clean, and safe.
Follow all hospital policies, safety guidelines, and procedures, including HIPAA and confidentiality requirements.
Promote the mission, vision, and values of Muenster Hospital District.
Record and maintain timekeeping information in the system accurately.
Perform additional tasks assigned by the Maintenance Manager.
