Zalando in Berlin is seeking a Frontend Engineer to join a cross-functional team building the ZEOS B2B Platform. You’ll ship features in an API-first environment using React and TypeScript, aligning with the Design System and CI/CD pipelines.

You’ll collaborate with Backend Engineers and Designers, own deliverables, and contribute to high-quality, accessible interfaces while staying current with web trends.

Qualifikationen

• Solid frontend foundations with React and TypeScript, modern CSS/HTML, and build tools like Webpack.
• Experience delivering features in Agile environments and taking ownership from design to production.
• Familiarity with Micro Frontends, SPAs, and interacting with RESTful APIs.

THE ROLE AND THE TEAM

The ZEOS B2B Platform is the engine that enables our partners to integrate and grow within the Zalando ecosystem. As a Frontend Engineer, you will join a cross-functional team dedicated to building our B2B Portal and specialized Portal Applications. You will work in an API-first environment where your goal is to turn complex business logic into intuitive, high-performance user interfaces.

In this role, you will work alongside Senior Engineers and Product Managers to implement new features and improve our frontend landscape. You will be part of a culture that values technical curiosity and operational responsibility. • Develop High-Quality Features: Build and maintain user-facing features using React and TypeScript, ensuring code is clean, tested, and follows our established Design System (DS).

• Contribute to Modern Architectures: Work within a Micro Frontend (MFE) and SPA environment, helping us build modular components that are easy to integrate and scale.

• Own Your Deliverables: Take responsibility for the full development lifecycle. You will participate in the design, testing, and deployment of your features using our CI/CD pipelines.

• Ensure Technical Health: Participate in code reviews and help maintain high standards for code quality, documentation, and performance.

• Collaborate Effectively: Work closely with Backend Engineers to define API contracts and with Designers to ensure a seamless and accessible user experience.

• Learn and Improve: Proactively stay updated on modern web trends and contribute to the team’s continuous improvement by sharing your findings and suggesting optimizations.

• Solid Frontend Foundations: You have professional experience with React and TypeScript, and you are comfortable working with modern CSS/HTML and build tools like Webpack. Check our Tech Radar for more information on the technologies we use at Zalando.

• Reliable Individual Contributor: You have a proven track record of delivering stable features in an Agile environment and taking ownership of your tasks from start to finish.

• Familiar with Modern Web Concepts: You understand the basics of Micro Frontends, SPAs, and how to interact with RESTful APIs effectively.

• Quality & Security Mindset: You value automated testing and have a basic understanding of web security concepts and authentication flows (e.g., Okta/OpenID).

• DevOps Mindset: You are eager to work with AWS and Kubernetes and are excited about the "You Write It, You Run It" philosophy.

• Great Teammate: You have strong communication skills in English, you enjoy solving problems collaboratively, and you are open to giving and receiving constructive feedback.
