Zusammenfassung

GROPYUS is seeking a Senior Software Engineer freelancer to support a 10-month project focused on our Smart Living and Smart Building technology stack. Expect 30–40 hours per week and EU-based availability.

You will build and configure Linux-based IoT and edge systems for smart homes and buildings, develop device-to-cloud telemetry pipelines, and work on edge components while ensuring security, reliability, and observability across the stack.

Qualifikationen

• Proficiency in Kotlin and Spring Boot for backend services.
• Experience configuring Linux-based IoT/edge systems.
• Knowledge of BLE/Bluetooth Mesh technologies.
• Familiarity with monitoring stacks (Grafana/Prometheus).

• Build and configure Linux-based IoT/edge systems for smart homes and buildings.
• Develop device-to-cloud telemetry pipelines for telemetry, control, and automation.
• Work on edge computing components on embedded Linux systems.
• Implement and support device lifecycle management: provisioning, configuration, monitoring, OTA updates.
• Build internal tools and automation for IoT fleet operations and diagnostics.
• Ensure system reliability, security, and observability across edge and cloud layers.
• Collaborate with Product, Hardware, Platform, and Software teams.

About the role

We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer freelancer to support GROPYUS on a 10-month project focused on our Smart Living and Smart Building technology stack.

• Improve zero-touch provisioning [Kotlin, Spring Boot, Linux, BLE / Bluetooth Mesh]
• Enhance monitoring capabilities [BLE / Bluetooth Mesh, Grafana, Prometheus, OTel Collector, Spring Boot]
• Build a Proof of Concept for the new BOS Architecture based on the defined functional requirements

The project is open to freelancers based anywhere in the EU, with an expected availability of 30–40 hours per week.
