Job summary

3Ive is building the AI co-engineer for physical products, enabling engineers and AI agents to collaborate in 3D atop CATIA, NX, SOLIDWORKS and Creo. You will define end-to-end product design and share a meaningful ~30% of product management with the founders.

You will prototype in code, ship AI-driven experiences, and create a coherent design system with the frontend team. Fluency in German and English is essential as our users are engineers at German manufacturers.

Qualifications

• Designed complex B2B / SaaS products with dense data and multi-step workflows.
• Shipped AI and agent experiences, including human-in-the-loop review and tracing agent reasoning.
• Prototype in code and present working prototypes to users, not just designs.
• Think like a product manager: run user interviews, write crisp specs, and prioritize with engineers.
• Fluent in German and English; communicate with German manufacturing engineers.

Responsibilities

• Design how engineers brief, steer and review an AI agent to generate and modify 3D designs.
• Make agent work inspectable in 3D with viewers, measurements, and 2D drawings.
• Turn a fast-growing product into a coherent design system with frontend engineers.
• Run research loops with automotive/industrial customers to shape roadmaps and features.

About Us

A software engineer today works alongside Claude Code or Cursor. A mechanical engineer designing the next car component still clicks through CAD trees, up to 7 different softwares and searches Excel sheets, Windows folders and asks whoever has been around longest.

AI is about to change that fundamentally – and nobody has figured out yet what the interface for it looks like.

That is why we are building the AI co-engineer for physical products: agents that work natively in 3D, sit on top of CATIA, NX, SOLIDWORKS and Creo, and learn from real-world engineering decisions.

We are already in production with major European manufacturers.

Who we're looking for

We are a small, AI-native team and we need a senior designer who defines how engineers and AI agents work together in 3D. You own product design end-to-end and take on a real share of product management (~30%) together with the founders.

• You have designed complex B2B / SaaS products – dense data, multi-step workflows, expert users who don't forgive friction

• You have shipped AI and agent experiences – not just chat, but human-in-the-loop review, uncertainty, and making an agent's reasoning traceable

• You prototype in code – and put working prototypes in front of users, not just Figma frames

• You think like a product manager – you run user interviews, write crisp specs, prioritise ruthlessly and work directly with engineers

• You combine taste with pragmatism – you know when to polish and when to ship

• You are fluent in German and English – our users are engineers at German manufacturers and you will talk to them directly

Experience with 3D, CAD, PLM or other engineering software – ideally in a startup – is a strong plus.

What you'll work on

You will shape the future of agentic 3D design and engineering. There is no pattern library for this category yet – you will write it. What that looks like right now:

• Designing how an engineer briefs, steers and reviews an AI agent that generates and modifies 3D designs – from a customer request to a validated design variant

• Making agent work inspectable in 3D – viewers, cuts, measurements, 2D drawings, and a clear view of what the agent changed and why

• Turning a fast-grown product into a coherent design system together with our frontend engineers

• Running research loops with engineers at automotive and industrial customers and turning them into roadmap, specs and shipped features

We work with Figma, Flowbite, Linear and a modern Python and TypeScript stack – and we prototype with AI every day.
