AI Futures in Munich is seeking a Founding Forward Deployed Engineer to own deployments of our agentic AI product at customer sites. You will work directly with founders and customers to scope, deploy, and iterate on solutions.

You will prototype integrations, translate real-world problems into agent architectures, and help define internal best practices. Travel to customer sites is required as deployments expand.

AI Futures are the exclusive Search partner for an early-stage AI Start-Up, backed by one of those successful early-stage VC Investors in Europe. They have an exceptional track record of building real-world solutions to solve real-world solutions.

They have scaled quarter-on-quarter since their conception, and built a world-class team and are now looking for a Founding Forward Deployed Engineer to support project delivery and customer engagements.

Role Responsibilities

• Own the end-to-end deployment of our agentic AI product into customer environments - from initial technical scoping through go-live and iteration
• Sit directly with customers to understand their workflows, data, and constraints, translating messy real-world problems into working agent architectures
• Rapidly prototype, build, and harden custom integrations, tools, and agent workflows tailored to each customer's stack
• Act as the technical voice of the customer internally, feeding learnings back into the core product roadmap
• Debug and resolve issues in live, high-stakes deployments, often under time pressure
• Help define internal best practices for agent design, evaluation, and deployment as some of the first written at the company
• Travel to customer sites as needed to accelerate deployments and build trust with technical stakeholders
• Partner closely with founders on hiring, process, and technical strategy as the forward-deployed function scales

Key Skills

• Strong software engineering fundamentals, with the ability to write production-quality code quickly across the stack
• Hands-on experience building with LLMs and agentic frameworks (tool use, orchestration, RAG, evaluation)
• Comfort operating in ambiguity - you can turn a vague customer problem into a scoped technical plan without much hand-holding
• Excellent communication skills; equally credible explaining architecture to engineers and outcomes to non-technical stakeholders
• A bias toward action and iteration over polish - you'd rather ship something imperfect and improve it than wait for certainty
• Prior experience in a forward-deployed, solutions engineering, or founding engineer role is a strong plus
• Willingness to travel and work directly on-site with customers when needed
• Genuine excitement about being an early, high-leverage hire at a fast-moving startup
