Clera is seeking a founding engineer to build the core AI agent platform that automates connections, migrations, and implementations across enterprise systems. You’ll own critical architecture decisions in a YC-backed startup and ship features that shape future engineering patterns.

You will work on live ERP/CRM integrations with a strong emphasis on reliability, scalability, and cross-functional impact. Relocation to Munich is expected for an on-site role in Bavaria, Germany.

Qualifikationen

About The Role

This is a founding engineering position at a YC-backed enterprise AI startup building AI agents that automate the connection, migration, and implementation of complex enterprise systems. You will join a small team where your decisions directly shape the architecture, and everything you build becomes the pattern future engineers follow. The work is technically serious: your code runs on live ERP and financial systems where reliability genuinely matters.

You will join a small team where your decisions directly shape the architecture, and everything you build becomes the pattern future engineers follow. The work is technically serious: your code runs on live ERP and financial systems where reliability genuinely matters.

What You'll Do

• Build and evolve the agent core, including planning, execution, and self-healing loops that turn natural-language integration descriptions into production-grade data movement.
• Own systems end to end across connectors, the transformation engine, execution runtime, the web app, the SDK, and the MCP server.
• Pick up the highest-leverage problem each week and ship it, without a ticket queue or pre-formed spec.
• Join customer calls when a request touches your work, and use that context to inform what you build.
• Set the engineering bar and coding patterns for the engineers who come after you.

What We're Looking For

• 2+ years of production software engineering experience, with strong TypeScript proficiency and demonstrated end-to-end application delivery.
• Proficiency in at least one additional language such as Python, Go, or C.
• Experience integrating with or implementing enterprise systems such as ERP, CRM, or data warehouse platforms (for example, SAP, NetSuite, Salesforce, or Snowflake).
• Experience designing critical infrastructure with clear judgment on reliability and scalability tradeoffs.
• Credible startup or high-growth environment experience, comfortable operating with ambiguity and no hand-holding.
• Experience working directly with customers on technical implementations or support.
• Experience building or contributing to open source projects.
• Exceptional communication skills: able to articulate problems, solutions, and needs clearly, including in front of customers.
• Strong CS fundamentals, whether from a top technical university, competitive programming, or strong internship experience.
• Background in data migration, ETL, or system integration is a plus.
• Experience with distributed systems, data pipelines, or LLM/agent tooling is a plus.

Compensation & Benefits

Salary range: 90,000 to 150,000 EUR annually. Equity available. Visa sponsorship is not available.

Location

On-site five days per week in Munich, Bavaria, Germany. Relocation is expected if you are not already based there.
