About motus med

motus medis a digital health startup centered around an AI‑powered medical video platform. Our first product is an effective tool for diagnosis and monitoring in epilepsy. Our work builds on many years of research and clinical experience within the Computational Neurology Lab (Prof. Dr. Christian Meisel) at Charité‑Universitätsmedizin Berlin.

We are currently spinning out of Charité and accelerating our go‑to‑market, backed by clinical teams, validated through studies and early pilots, run by an experienced founding team and supported by high‑profile medical, AI, and regulatory advisors.

We are now looking for a Founding Engineer to take ownership of our core product and shape the next stage of development.

Your role

As our Founding Engineer, you will build motus med with us – fast, pragmatically, and with full ownership.

You will :

• Build full‑stack features end‑to‑end across React, React Native (Expo), and Kotlin
• Ship core functionality in days, not weeks, using AI agents and modern dev tooling as leverage
• Own our architecture, app foundations, CI / CD, and cloud deployments (Kubernetes)
• Integrate our video‑ and AI‑based features into a seamless experience for clinicians and patients
• Work hand‑in‑hand with the founders and our ML engineering team
• Help define engineering culture, quality standards, and long‑term technical direction
• Grow into Head of Engineering / CTO if you want it and deliver

This is a true founder‑track role with direct impact on patients, clinicians, and real‑world healthcare workflows.

Your profile

You do not need to tick every box – we care more about pace, ownership, and mindset. You likely have :

• Strong experience with React and React Native (Expo) – this is essential
• Solid backend foundations, ideally in Kotlin, or the ability to pick it up quickly
• Comfort with Docker, CI / CD, Kubernetes, cloud basics, and monitoring
• Experience shipping production apps (web or mobile) at high speed
• Bias to action and a founder mentality
• A desire to work onsite with the core team and move fast
• AI‑first workflow : Cursor, Copilot, GPT agents, automated tests, refactoring – all second nature
• Interest in product, UX, and clinical workflows
• Experience in the digital health or MedTech space is a plus
