Zusammenfassung

Siemens seeks a Forward Deployed Engineer to translate complex business challenges into production AI systems, operating across domains such as supply chain, finance and HR. You will deploy in 4–8 week cycles using the Siemens Data & AI Cloud (SDC) and hand over to domain teams after success.

You’ll architect data/inference pipelines, agent orchestration, and practical UIs, delivering working software fast and shaping cloud-based AI platforms for real-world impact.

Qualifikationen

• Master's degree or equivalent in CS/AI/ML/Engineering or quantitative field
• 5+ years hands-on AI/ML engineering experience with deployed production systems
• Deep expertise in Python, LLM APIs, RAG architectures, vector stores and agent frameworks
• Strong software fundamentals: CI/CD, containerization, API design and cloud exposure (Azure/AWS/GCP)
• Fluent English; German proficiency is advantageous for local engagements

• Drive emerging AI technologies into production-grade systems as an early adopter while validating and documenting real-world performance.
• Architect and build end-to-end solutions: data ingestion, retrieval/model layers, agent orchestration, APIs and user interfaces.
• Engineer reliable agents and multi-agent systems with LangGraph, Google ADK and Microsoft Agent Framework using built-in evaluation and guardrails.
• Embed with domain leads to uncover undocumented processes and rapidly translate them into working software.
• Deliver tangible core value to stakeholders within two weeks to establish velocity and credibility.
• Feed frontline insights back to the core platform team to improve SDC primitives and tooling.
• Codify recurring patterns into reusable components and templates for future work.
• Execute clean handovers with thorough documentation and runbooks.

As a Forward Deployed Engineer (FDE), you operate as an embedded, customer-facing software engineer within Siemens business units such as supply chain, finance, and HR. You translate complex business challenges into production-ready AI systems within 4-to-8-week cycles, leveraging the Siemens Data & AI Cloud (SDC). Once your solution is successfully deployed and handed over to the domain teams, you move on to the next high-impact problem.

• Embedding directly with domain leads and VPs to uncover undocumented process details and rapidly transform them into working software.
• Delivering a tangible core of value into stakeholders' hands within the first two weeks to establish credibility through visible velocity.
• Feeding frontline insights back into the core platform team to continuously improve SDC primitives and shared tooling based on empirical evidence.
• Codifying recurring technical patterns into reusable components, templates, and building blocks that accelerate future organizational engagements.
• Executing clean handovers to operating domain teams supported by thorough documentation, architectural decision records, and operational runbooks.

Your defining qualities:

• Education: You hold a Master's degree or equivalent in Computer Science, AI/ML, Mathematics, Engineering, or a comparable quantitative discipline.
• Experience & Skills:
  • You bring 5 or more years of hands‑on AI/ML engineering experience featuring a proven portfolio of deployed systems used in production environments.
  • You posses deep expertise in the modern AI stack, including Python, major LLM APIs, RAG architectures, vector stores, and prominent agent frameworks.
  • You exhibit strong software engineering fundamentals covering clean tested code, CI/CD, containerization, API design, and major cloud providers such as Azure, AWS, or GCP.
• Ways of working:
  • You demonstrate a strong track record of direct, customer-facing or stakeholder-facing technical delivery rather than backend ticket queues.
  • You display an entrepreneurial temperament characterized by comfort with ambiguity, enthusiasm for unproven technology, and sound judgment under pressure.
• Languages: You offer fluent English language skills complemented by German proficiency as an advantageous asset for local enterprise engagements.
