Jobtailor in Cologne, Germany is seeking a hands-on Quantitative Modeling expert to build production-ready models for customer decision problems. You will work end-to-end from initial conversations to deployment, validating messy ERP/Excel data and delivering models that customers use and improve.

You will collaborate with the math and OR teams, write production Python, and travel across the DACH region to customer sites.

Qualifikationen

• Built quantitative models for real operations problems and taken them into production, using optimization, simulation, or both
• Built such models more than once end to end; at least one model still runs without the candidate present
• Currently writes production code
• Can identify and validate key assumptions and constraints with customers before building
• Comfortable communicating with plant managers and controllers
• Can explain models to technical and non-technical audiences
• Experience working with messy industrial data
• Production-quality Python
• Experience working in a team with shared standards
• German and English proficiency sufficient to run customer meetings and write specifications
• Based in North Rhine-Westphalia (Cologne office)
• Willing to travel regularly to customer sites across the DACH region
• Nice to have: operations research background
• Nice to have: optimization tooling such as Gurobi, OR-Tools, or Pyomo
• Nice to have: production planning, supply chain, inventory, or logistics domain knowledge
• Nice to have: consulting or forward deployed experience
