Job summary

European Air Transport Leipzig GmbH (EAT) is seeking a Flight Operations Assistant to join the Leipzig operation. You will support dispatchers, coordinate with crews and partners, and help prepare briefing materials and fuel orders for mass and balance calculations.

You will update night-briefing racks, assist with flight-planning, and maintain the dispatch library while contributing to cross-department projects and ensuring safety and compliance in a 24/7 environment.

Qualifications

• Specialized vocational training or relevant professional experience.
• Hold a valid work authorization and the unrestricted right to work in Germany.
• Basic aviation training and general aviation knowledge for Flight Operations Assistant.
• Knowledge of aviation regulations, meteorology, navigation, flight planning, and air traffic management is a plus.
• Ability to work in a 24/7 rotating shift pattern, including nights, weekends and public holidays.
• Strong prioritization, coordination, analytical, decision-making and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work accurately under pressure and cooperate within an international operational team.
• Very good written and spoken English; German is considered an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Communicate and coordinate with flight crews, DHL network operations, airports, airlines, service providers, and internal departments.
• Prepare and organize flight briefing packages and fuel orders, including NMIV fuel figures for mass-and-balance calculations.
• Prepare and update DHL night-operations briefing racks, including GenDecs, trip information, and requirements.
• Update and monitor delegated Flight Dispatcher and Senior Supervisor tasks that are not operational-control functions.
• Support Flight Dispatchers with flight-planning duties within the qualified Flight Operations Assistant scope.
• Maintain and update the Flight Dispatch library, documents, forms, processes and procedures.
• Support Flight Operations Control management with administrative tasks.
• Participate in cross-departmental projects.

What You Bring

• Specialized vocational training with several years of relevant professional experience, a completed degree program, or many years of relevant professional experience.
• Hold a valid work authorization and the unrestricted right to work in Germany.
• Basic aviation training and general aviation knowledge appropriate to the Flight Operations Assistant role.
• Knowledge of aviation regulations, meteorology, navigation, flight planning, air traffic management, aircraft performance, and operational systems is an advantage.
• Ability to work in a 24/7 rotating shift pattern, including nights, weekends, and public holidays.
• Strong prioritization, coordination, analytical, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work accurately under pressure and cooperate effectively within an international operational team.
• High motivation, attention to detail, proactive information gathering, and a strong commitment to safety and compliance.
• Very good written and spoken English. German is considered an advantage.
