COMBERA, part of the Smollan group, seeks a Finance Manager (m/f/d) for its Group Finance Shared Services. You own end-to-end financial management, compliance, and month-end close for key DACH entities, combining hands-on accounting with team leadership and cross-border stakeholder engagement.

You will drive process improvement, maintain tight internal controls, and partner with auditors and local authorities as part of a high-performing finance team in a hybrid Leipzig setting.

Qualifikationen

• Formal finance/accounting qualification or degree completed.
• Deep knowledge of German GAAP (HGB) and reporting principles.
• Experience leading a transactional accounting team.

We are seeking an experienced Finance Manager (m/f/d) to join our Group Finance Shared Services team. You will hold end-to-end operational responsibility for the financial management, compliance, and accurate month-end close for key DACH entities. This is a key leadership role combining hands‑on accounting management, team leadership, cross-border stakeholder engagement, and process optimisation.

• Lead, mentor, and set performance goals for the transactional accounting team.

Financial Operations & Management

• Maintain full ownership of end-to-end accounting processes (AP, AR, expense processing, asset management, and general ledger).
• Lead timely month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes for two German entities.
• Oversee liquidity management and monitor daily cash flow.
• Ensure complete accuracy and integrity of P&L and Balance Sheet accounts; perform regular reconciliations and address potential risks early.
• Perform analytical reviews of monthly operating results against budgets to deliver clear variance explanations to Group Finance.
• Prepare and validate local ledger data for BPC consolidated uploads.
• Ensure strict adherence to HGB (German GAAP) and IFRS policies, including year-end IFRS-to-HGB reconciliations.
• Act as the primary contact for external auditors, tax advisors, and local authorities (handling structural statistics and trade tax personnel cost breakdowns).
• Maintain robust internal control frameworks, participate in the ASL finance forum, and lead local audit execution.

Process Improvement & Stakeholder Engagement

• Partner with the Head of Group Finance Operations to streamline transactional workflows and reduce manual intervention.
• Build strong relationships with cross-functional stakeholders (Commercial, FBPs, Group Accounting, vendors, and financial institutions).
• Complete ad-hoc strategic tasks requested by local Managing Directors, FBPs, or Group Finance leadership.
• Extensive demonstrated experience in a managerial finance role overseeing core accounting operations.
• Completed formal finance/accounting qualification or degree.
• Deep knowledge of German financial regulations German GAAP (HGB) and reporting principles.
• Proven track record of successfully implementing new financial processes and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and cross-cultural communication skills.
• Professional proficiency in German and English
• Direct experience using Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance.
• Hands-on experience with SAP BPC or similar enterprise financial consolidation tools.
