POSITION DESCRIPTION:

We are seeking a Finance Business Partner to support a portfolio of software companies within Italy. In this role, you will oversee financial operations, including budgeting, forecasting, reporting, financial planning, and analysis. You will partner

closely with Managing Directors, operational leaders, and our Portfolio Finance Team to drive financial performance and support integration of newly acquired businesses.

This is a hands‑on, influential role requiring strong financial expertise, problem‑solving ability, and the capacity to operate autonomously in a fast‑paced, international environment. You will collaborate directly with the Finance Controller – Portfolio as part of our global finance structure.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Drive daily
  • Oversee daily financial and accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger management.
  • Prepare monthly financial reports and provide ad‑hoc analysis to support leadership decision‑making.
  • Produce and review financial statements (balance sheet, income statement, and cash flow statement) to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Perform monthly and quarterly reconciliations to maintain accurate and compliant financial records.
  • Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes to ensure timely and precise payments and collections.
  • Develop annual budgets and financial forecasts in collaboration with Managing Directors.
  • Monitor liquidity, optimise free cash flow, and advise on financial risks and opportunities.
  • Provide financial insights and recommendations aligned with TAG’s strategic and operational objectives.
  • Support recruitment, training, and development of accounting and finance staff within your assigned group.
  • Evaluate existing financial processes, identify gaps, and implement improvements, including automation initiatives.
  • Maintain strong internal financial controls and ensure compliance with TAG/Valsoft policies and Italian accounting regulations.
  • Assist with tax optimisation, audits, filings, and overall compliance with local tax requirements.
  • Collaborate with operational leaders to evaluate performance, identify improvements, and support ongoing business optimisation.
  • Support financial integration of newly acquired companies, including ERP implementation, account mapping, and rollout of reporting standards.
  • Deploy monthly reporting cadence for acquired companies, ensuring data integrity, accuracy, and governance.
  • Assist with purchase price allocations and preparation of opening balance sheets.
  • Analyse financial and operational risks during acquisition and manage transition‑related issues throughout the integration period.
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • CPA‑qualified accountant (or equivalent European designation)
  • 3+ years of experience in a finance or accounting leadership role
  • Experience leading at least one ERP implementation or integration
  • Strong knowledge of IFRS/Italian GAAP and financial regulations
  • Advanced MS Excel and financial modelling skills
  • Strong analytical, strategic, and problem‑solving ability
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Experience developing or managing high‑performing teams
  • Proficiency with ERP and financial systems
  • Fluency in both English and German language

  • Experience working within a multi‑company or portfolio environment
  • Prior involvement in software, SaaS, or technology‑driven businesses
  • Experience supporting M&A integrations
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities across different business units
