An international environmental organization is looking for a Finance & Accounting Specialist in Berlin. The role involves managing financial reporting, budgeting, and compliance while supporting the Europe Region's operations. Candidates should have a Bachelor's degree in a relevant field and experience in financial management. The Finance & Accounting Specialist will be a member of the Europe Finance and Operations team and provides highly specialized finance / accounting-related services to the Europe Region of The Nature Conservancy. They provide accounting financial and operational support to help advance the Europe Region. Responsibilities range from Contracts accounting budgeting and reporting assistance. They are service-oriented, have strong organizational and systems skills and possess the ability to work both independently and as part of a team. A positive attitude is essential.
This position is a fixed-term appointment for one year with the possibility of extension based on performance and organizational needs. Location for the position is Berlin Germany.

Join us as a Finance & Contract Specialist and play a key role in ensuring strong financial operations across Europe.
Provide expert support in financial management reporting and accounting for the Europe Region.
Manage private awards and oversee all financial information including processing internal financial forms.
Ensure compliance with local laws, organizational policies and best practices in financial management.
Partner with the Manager of Finance & Operations Europe to:
Review monthly accounting reports, monitor key asset and liability balances and provide strategic financial recommendations.
Collaborate with external accounting firms in Germany, Switzerland and the UK to prepare annual financial statements and reconcile local books with organizational records.
Support staff with finance‑related queries and resolve moderately complex issues.
The starting pay range for a candidate selected for this position is generally within the range of 58.000 - 66.000 Euro per year.
