Zusammenfassung

METRO AG in Germany is seeking an experienced SEO Expert to lead technical and content SEO initiatives across multiple markets. You will collaborate with product, editorial, and engineering teams to optimize site architecture, indexing, and on-page performance.

You will monitor rankings and analytics, develop international SEO strategies, and present actionable insights to stakeholders. Fluent German is required; you will work in a large matrixed organization with flexible working arrangements.

Qualifikationen

• 5+ years of experience in Technical SEO
• Experience managing SEO for large, multi-country, and multi-language websites
• Proven track record of developing and executing technical SEO and content strategies
• Experience working in-house within a large, matrixed organization
• History of collaboration with product, engineering, and content teams
• Degree in marketing, communications, business, computer science, or related field
• Understands site audits, indexing, page speed optimization, and basic HTML/CSS
• Native German speaker
• Proficient with SEO tools including GA, GSC, SEMrush, Ahrefs, Moz, Screaming Frog

Job Description

As a SEO Expert you will bring on SEO solution expertise in projects for effective delivery of broad milestones as well as micro level tasks in projects. This is a role which will interact with product owners and will work closely with the in-house editorial team, from strategy to execution, to make sure that both technical and content related goals are achieved. This involves acting as the subject matter expert and internal consultant for all SEO-related inquiries, championing best practices, and driving qualified organic traffic to increase online revenue from search channels across all countries we operate in.

• Define requirements, tasks, and resources associated with the SEO strategy.
• Monitor algorithm updates by search engines to keep up to date with best practices.
• Provide recommendations for content development in coordination with SEO goals, both general and keyword-specific.
• Provide recommendations and execute strategies for technical SEO topics, including internal linking, crawling, indexation, and rendering.
• Continue ongoing technical SEO projects and push them for further development.
• Initiate cross-team projects to ensure SEO best practices are properly implemented.
• Monitor and evaluate web analytics dashboards and contribute to their development.
• Monitor and evaluate search results and search performance across major search channels.
• Analyze competitor SEO strategies to identify threats and opportunities.
• Develop and manage the international SEO strategy and country-specific optimizations.
• Create and present regular performance reports to stakeholders, translating complex data into actionable insights.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in Technical Search Engine Optimization.
• Demonstrable experience managing SEO for large, multi-country, and multi-language websites.
• Proven track record of developing and executing successful technical SEO and content strategies.
• Experience working in an in-house capacity within a large, matrixed organization.
• History of successful collaboration with product, engineering, and content teams.
• Holds a degree in marketing, communications, business, computer science, or a related field, though a formal degree is not always required.
• Understands technical SEO concepts like site audits, indexing, page speed optimization, and basic HTML/CSS.
• Native German speaker.
• Uses SEO tools including Google Analytics, Google Search Console, SEMrush, Ahrefs, Moz, and Screaming Frog.
