METRO/MAKRO is seeking an experienced SEO Expert to drive technical and content SEO across multiple countries. You will partner with product owners and the in-house editorial team to deliver strategy from planning to execution, improving organic traffic and online revenue.

The role requires 5+ years in technical SEO, experience with multi-language sites, and proficiency with Google Analytics, Google Search Console, SEMrush, and Screaming Frog.

• Develop and manage the international SEO strategy and country-specific optimizations.

As a SEO Expert you will bring on SEO solution expertise in projects for effective delivery of broad milestones as well as micro level tasks in projects. This is a role which will interact with product owners and will work closely with the in-house editorial team, from strategy to execution, to make sure that both technical and content related goals are achieved. This involves acting as the subject matter expert and internal consultant for all SEO-related inquiries, championing best practices, and driving qualified organic traffic to increase online revenue from search channels across all countries we operate in.

• 5+ years of experience in Technical Search Engine Optimization.
• Demonstrable experience managing SEO for large, multi-country, and multi-language websites.

• History of successful collaboration with product, engineering, and content teams.
• Holds a degree in marketing, communications, business, computer science, or a related field, though a formal degree is not always required.
• Understands technical SEO concepts like site audits, indexing, page speed optimization, and basic HTML/CSS.
• Native German speaker.
• Uses SEO tools including Google Analytics, Google Search Console, SEMrush, Ahrefs, Moz, and Screaming Frog.
