Environmental technologist for wastewater management (previously specialist for wastewater technology)

Are you interested in planning, monitoring, controlling and documenting the processes in a wastewater treatment plant and have perhaps already gained some experience in this field? Then training as an environmental technologist for wastewater management (previously a wastewater technology specialist) is just right for you.

You will perform important public tasks in the wastewater treatment plant of the city of Erlangen and work actively for the citizens. You will also make a significant contribution to climate and environmental protection, as wastewater treatment ensures good water quality in our waterways. The gas storage tanks and solar cells at our modern wastewater treatment plant are also crucial to the fact that the entire plant can cover its own electricity and water requirements.

As an environmental technologist for wastewater management, you will treat the wastewater in the wastewater treatment plant and learn how to control, maintain and care for the wastewater treatment plant. In addition, you will monitor the treatment stages to optimize the treatment process, analyze the wastewater and sewage sludge samples and document the results. In the case of automated systems and machines, it will be your task to check them and take immediate corrective action in the event of deviations.
