Zusammenfassung

The Delaware Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Control's Division of Fish & Wildlife offers a limited-term Seasonal Biological Aide position. You will assist the Species Conservation and Research Program with wild turkey, quail and upland game projects, conduct surveys, help with trapping and banding, and enter data into Excel and databases.

Responsibilities include field sampling, data collection, and providing information to the public.

Qualifikationen

  • Six months experience in field work to collect samples and survey data.
  • Six months experience in math such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, percentages, or decimals.
  • Six months experience in applying laws, rules, regulations, standards, policies and procedures.
  • Six months experience in narrative report writing.
  • Knowledge of using an automated information system to enter, update, modify, delete, retrieve/inquire and report on data.
  • Possession of a valid Driver's License.

Introduction

The Division of Fish & Wildlife conserves and manages Delaware's fish and wildlife and their habitats, and provides fishing, hunting, wildlife viewing and boating access on nearly 65,000 acres of public land. Fish and wildlife resource conservation and safe boating are achieved through promoting public compliance with laws and regulations. The division delivers hunter, boating and aquatic education programs, and provides licensing and boat registration services.

Summary Statement

This seasonal biological aide position with Delawares Species Conservation and Research Program will assist the state Turkey, Quail and Upland Game biologist with Wild Turkey, Northern Bobwhite quail and upland game species projects. The job responsibilities include, but are not limited to, conducting surveys for gamebirds, assisting with trapping and banding efforts, entering data into excel and other databases. Occasional assistance with other programs may be required (e.g. deer, waterfowl, game and non-game species).

Job Requirements For Environmental Control Technician II
  • Six months experience in conducting field work to collect samples and survey data.
  • Six months experience in math such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, percentages, or decimals.
  • Six months experience in applying laws, rules, regulations, standards, policies and procedures.
  • Six months experience in narrative report writing.
  • Knowledge of using an automated information system to enter, update, modify, delete, retrieve/inquire and report on data.
  • Possession of a valid Driver's License (not suspended, revoked or cancelled, or disqualified from driving).
Additional Posting Information

This position is limited term for 6 months from November to April.

This posting may be closed on or before the listed closing date upon filling the vacant position(s).

This is a Casual/Seasonal position which is a non-pension eligible position without healthcare and/or other benefits.
