Zusammenfassung

Kesko IT is seeking an experienced Enterprise Architect to take architectural responsibility for infrastructure, networks, capacity and cloud services. The role combines strategic architecture with deep technical expertise, guiding decisions across data centers, networks, servers and cloud platforms.

Based in a modern Helsinki office, the role requires building long-term roadmaps, ensuring scalability, security, and cost efficiency, and collaborating with business IT, partner teams and suppliers

Qualifikationen

• Strong understanding of cloud and hybrid architectures (Azure, AWS)
• Expertise in IaC and automation using Terraform
• Server and virtualization architecture experience with VMware ESXi and vCenter
• Experience with data center and enterprise networks (routing, switching, VPN, SASE, ZTNA)
• Ability to communicate complex topics to non-technical stakeholders

Aufgaben

• Lead and develop the overall architecture of the infrastructure domain, including data centers, networks in datacenters and retail store sites, servers, capacity and cloud.
• Build and maintain a long-term infrastructure roadmap and target architectures considering capacity predictability, technology lifecycle, cost efficiency and service continuity.
• Guide architectural decisions with business IT, other architects, expert teams and partners.
• Evaluate and design solutions in hybrid and multi-cloud environments, with Azure as a key platform and AWS as an important capability.
• Ensure solutions are scalable, secure, resilient, cost-efficient and aligned with common architecture principles.
• Act as a technical sparring partner and challenger for experts, architects, service teams and suppliers.
• Model, document and justify architectural decisions from technical and business perspectives.

Overview

Do you want to shape the technical future of one of Finland’s largest and most diverse IT environments? We are looking for an experienced Enterprise Architect to join Kesko IT and take architectural responsibility for infrastructure, networks, capacity and cloud services. In this role, strategic enterprise architecture meets strong technical understanding. You will act as a key architectural thought leader, ensuring that our infrastructure solutions support business objectives, technology renewal, cost efficiency and the continuous development of our services. This role is a great fit for you if you want to work in a broad and impactful architecture position where data center, network, capacity, server and cloud architecture come together as one coherent whole. We are looking for a strategic architect with credible technical depth.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop the overall architecture of the infrastructure domain, including data centers, networks in datacenters and retail store sites, servers, capacity and cloud.
• Build and maintain a long-term infrastructure roadmap and target architectures considering capacity predictability, technology lifecycle, cost efficiency and service continuity.
• Guide architectural decisions with business IT, other architects, expert teams and partners.

Qualifications

• Strong understanding in several areas: Cloud and hybrid architectures (Azure, AWS, landing zones, identity models, monitoring, migrations, service modernization).
• Infrastructure as Code and automation: Terraform, modular environments, version control, release processes, and automation in infrastructure management.
• Server and virtualization architecture: VMware (ESXi, vCenter), clustering, Linux and Windows server architectures.
• Data center, core and branch networks: routing, switching, segmentation, EVPN/VXLAN, firewalls, DDI, SD-WAN, MPLS, BGP, 802.1X, NAC, SASE, ZTNA and VRF.
• Capacity and lifecycle management: performance, scalability, cost models, technology lifecycle and dependency management.
• Ability to communicate complex technical topics to business and management, guide technical choices, and own architectural solutions.
• Experience in retail, large international IT environments or similar where reliability, scalability and cost efficiency impact the business is advantageous.
