Job summary

Zertificon Solutions GmbH is seeking an Engineering Team Lead – DevOps & Platform in Berlin to drive infrastructure health, security, and platform reliability across on‑premise and cloud environments.

You will lead a 4–6 person DevOps team, migrate from Docker Swarm to Kubernetes, and advance CI/CD pipelines with Jenkins, Ansible and Terraform. Strong Kubernetes, Terraform, and InfoSec knowledge required.

Qualifications

• Leadership experience with mentoring teams.
• Broad experience with container technologies (images, registries, volumes, networks).
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and effectively communicate with stakeholders.
• Proven experience with Kubernetes cluster configuration and management.
• Strong understanding of Ansible and Terraform.
• Strong understanding of Jenkins CI/CD pipelines and Git.
• Solid understanding of InfoSec principles (TLS, certificates).

Responsibilities

• Lead migration from Docker Swarm to Kubernetes.
• Mentor and lead a DevOps team of 4–6 engineers.
• Design, build and maintain automated IT infrastructure (on‑premise & cloud).
• Develop and extend CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, Ansible and Terraform.
• Manage monitoring with Prometheus and Grafana; plan maintenance with stakeholders.
• Oversee container orchestration and cloud/infra troubleshooting across environments.
• Review PRs for code quality; communicate progress to stakeholders.

The Engineering Team Lead – DevOps & Platform plays a pivotal role in managing Zertificon Operational Services (ZOS) platforms and environments where Zertificon products are developed, tested and run. The role ensures infrastructure health and security to guarantee smooth and uninterrupted development on our various stages. This role contributes to risk mitigation ensuring operational resilience and strengthening the company through:

• Support team in migration from docker swarm to kubernetes
• Mentor and lead team of 4-6 DevOps engineers

Infrastructure & Automation

• Lead design, building and maintenance of automated IT infrastructure (on-premise & cloud)
• Identify and solve internal customer needs with infrastructure, tooling and self-service
• Develop and extend CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, Ansible and Terraform

Monitoring & Maintenance

• Manage monitoring solutions (Prometheus, Grafana) and strategically plan alerting
• Plan and schedule maintenance of infrastructure with a regard to stakeholder needs

Containerization & Cloud

• Manage, troubleshoot and automate container orchestration (Kubernetes, Docker Swarm)
• Experience with cloud providers (Azure, AWS, Google Cloud) is a plus
• Lead the team in building and troubleshooting orchestration platforms
• Lead the team in development, and improvement of their skills
• Regularly Review pull requests for code quality
• Communicate updates, progress and challenges to stakeholders, ensuring timely delivery
