Tesla Germany GmbH is seeking an Engineering Manager to own engineering quality for Special Projects across EMEA. You will lead engineers in mechanical, electrical, structural, architectural and fire protection, set design standards, and ensure performance requirements are met.

Based in the region with Berlin as an option, you will recruit, mentor and manage capacity, coordinate with internal teams and external consultants, and travel to project sites as needed to drive delivery and compliance

Formación

• Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Structural, Architectural, Fire engineering, or equivalent experience.
• Senior engineering leadership experience in technical facilities or laboratories.
• Proven ability to lead multiple disciplines and coach engineers.

What to Expect

We are looking for an Engineering Manager to own engineering quality for Special Projects. You will report to the Manager, Infrastructure – Special Projects and lead engineers across Mechanical (HVAC and Process/Piping), Electrical, Structural, Architectural and Fire Protection. You will set the technical standard for the facilities behind Engineering, R&D and Remanufacturing across EMEA, and hold the team to it.You are the reference for basis of design, reviews and standards, and you direct the engineers. You will also build the team, covering recruiting, expectations, coaching and capacity. You own the engineering result and do not accept work that does not meet the performance requirement. This role is decentralized across EMEA, and you must be based in the region. Berlin is an option, not a requirement. Travel to project sites is expected.

What You’ll Do

• Lead technical delivery across mechanical, electrical, structural, architectural and fire scope on concurrent projects and always ensure compliance with local codes and regulations
• Define the basis of design and engineering scope for in-house and consultant work, apply local codes deliberately, and review calculations, specifications and consultant deliverables, rejecting work that does not meet the performance requirement
• Set and improve Infrastructure Development technical standards and templates, and feed lessons learned back into them so each project starts from a common baseline
• Lead design reviews and technical stage gates, resolve clashes between disciplines before they reach site, and support construction and site teams through requests for information, field changes, inspections and commissioning
• Allocate in-house capacity, decide what is done internally versus by consultants, schedule engineering deliverables with the Technical Program Manager, and report engineering risk, long‑lead equipment and deviations to the Manager, Infrastructure – Special Projects with a recommendation
• Lead technical discussions with suppliers in the procurement phase on performance, price and lead time, and identify, onboard and develop relationships with local design vendors
• Recruit engineers, set expectations, hold them accountable and coach them, and give the technical direction they build to

What You’ll Bring

• Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Structural, Architectural, Fire or a related engineering discipline, or equivalent proven experience
• Senior level experience within engineering for technical facilities, industrial buildings or laboratories, including design leadership
• Expert in at least one discipline, with the judgment to lead the others through review rather than opinion
• Experience producing and reviewing performance specifications, calculations and consultant packages, directing external engineers, and running design reviews that end in a decision
• Proven people leadership, including hiring, feedback and development, with the technical authority to direct other engineers
• Strong scheduling, cost awareness and multi-discipline coordination skills, proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite, and working knowledge of Revit, Navisworks or AutoCAD to review CAD and BIM output
• Based in EMEA (Berlin is an option, not a requirement) and willing to travel to project sites. Fluent English is required; German or Dutch is a plus
