C&A is seeking an Engineering Manager for its Digital & Consumer domain in Germany. Lead and mentor cross-functional engineering teams, align roadmaps with Product Manager and Product Designer, and drive engineering excellence and innovation across our Java/Kotlin/SpringBoot stack on AWS.

You will help scale our iOS/Android web platforms while nurturing a collaborative, inclusive team culture. We value strong leadership, clear communication, and a passion for modern software practices.

Our Digital & Consumer domain is one of eight tech domains within C&A and is shaped around 150 IT- and design peers. We are developing creative and innovative in-house digital solutions for our three customer-centric platforms: our iOS and Android applications, as well as the C&A web shop. Your Responsibilities

• Leading, coaching, and developing one or more cross-functional engineering teams to drive goals and objectives
• Establishing and maintaining a positive and productive work environment that fosters teamwork, creativity, and collaboration
• Fostering engineering and operational excellence within your team(s), as well as identifying training opportunities and career development strategies
• Building engineering capabilities within the team to ensure engineering and operational best practices
• Pairing with the Product Manager and Product Designer on the steering of the team’s roadmap
• Managing Engineers, as well as hiring and retaining talents
• Staying up to date with emerging technologies and industry trends, and evaluating their potential impact on the company’s products and services

What You Bring

• Relevant Engineering Management experience, or in a similar technical leadership role
• Leading with humility and empathy, mentoring others, as well as possessing the ability to effectively delegate
• Strong communication skills and demonstrated ability to present complex technical information in a clear, and concise manner to a variety of audiences
• Ability to split large features into smaller deliverables to deliver value as early and as often as possible. Great passion for technology and software development

Great to have

• Experience in designing and implementing microservices in a complex ecosystem (Java, Kotlin, SpringBoot, AWS)
• Experience with frontend technologies (Typescript, React, Tailwind)
• Experience with message brokers and databases (RabbitMQ, Kafka, PostgreSQL)
• Experience with effective ways to leverage GenAI in software delivery
