The DLR Institute of Communications and Navigation is dedicated to mission-oriented research in selected areas of communications and navigation. Its work ranges from the theoretical foundations to the demonstration of new procedures and systems in a real environment and is embedded in DLR's Space, Aeronautics, Transport, Security and Digitalization programs.
The Nautical Systems department of the DLR Institute of Communications and Navigation develops and tests new procedures and technologies for shore-based and on-board support in ship navigation, among other things. The Multi Sensor Systems research group develops methods for high precision and robust navigation and perception, to enable high autonomy levels in waterborne platforms and other intelligent transportation systems. You will investigate countermeasures against GNSS vulnerabilities and develop multi-sensor fusion solutions integrating multilayer PNT, inertial and visual information. Your work will range from methodological development to SW and HW prototyping and validation in laboratory and field experiments.

Candidates must be willing to undergo a security clearance check in accordance with the Federal Security Clearance Act. Remuneration is up to the German TVöD 13 depending on qualifikations and assigned tasks.
